Lieutenant Colonel Khuc Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs, Provincial Military Command, said: To specify Circular No. 138/2020/TT-BQP dated November 10, 2020 of the Ministry of National Defense , stipulating the regime, norms, and standards of cultural and spiritual life in the Vietnam People's Army, the Party Committee and Provincial Military Command have seriously and methodically implemented it, in accordance with the unit's reality. Cultural and artistic activities are organized in a variety of ways, integrated with the propaganda of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies for officers and soldiers in the provincial military.
In parallel, the system of cultural institutions, such as Ho Chi Minh Room, cultural house, traditional exhibition room are invested in and built at grassroots units, contributing to traditional education, raising political awareness, and fostering revolutionary ideals for cadres and soldiers.
Every Wednesday evening, the units maintain cultural and artistic activities, performing mass art performances. The heroic melodies, the simple and profound lyrics, the emotional short plays, along with the lively, modern, and youthful improvisational dances... create a joyful and cohesive atmosphere in the units. The cultural and artistic movement has attracted a large number of officers and soldiers to participate both during unit activities and during breaks on the training ground, helping to dispel stress and fatigue after training hours.
Cultural and artistic activities have created an ideal environment for officers and soldiers with special talents in the fields of singing, dancing, music and drama to demonstrate their talents. This is also the place for units to find sources to nurture and develop core artistic forces, and at the same time add to the shock art troupe to serve the propaganda work and organize events of the unit.
As a flute player of Regiment 754, Private Thao A Phinh, Battalion 1, shared: Recreational, cultural, and artistic activities help officers and soldiers to be happier, more united, and closer to each other, thereby raising their spirit and determination to overcome all difficulties and strive to excellently complete training tasks.
The Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command also focus on organizing provincial-level art competitions and performances; creating conditions for art troupes to participate in competitions and performances between units, such as: Competition of songs prescribed in the Army; collective dance performances. Coordinate with sister units inside and outside the army to establish and maintain the activities of 3 shock art teams of Regiment 754, the General Staff Department and the Logistics - Technical Department, serving internally and acting as collaborators for the province's art programs. In addition, art performances serving the people during field trips for mass mobilization work are regularly organized, associated with the programs "Spring solidarity, Tet with strong military-civilian affection", performing legal propaganda in border areas, contributing to building a solid people's heart position.
Major Lo Van Minh, Head of the Cultural House of the Provincial Military Command, said: Performing arts are not only entertainment activities, but also an effective form of political education . Through singing and dancing, soldiers understand more about traditions, love their units more, and are more attached to the army. Thanks to good organization, ensuring synchronization in terms of people, content and form, the cultural and artistic activities of the Provincial Military Command have achieved many impressive achievements. At the 10th Military and Youth and Student Mass Arts Festival in 2024, the unit won 5 gold medals and 2 silver medals. In 2025, the legal propaganda drama program won second prize at the Military Region level; participating in the Son La Provincial Radio and Television Festival won third prize for the entire delegation.
The cultural and artistic movement at the Provincial Military Command is well organized, closely linked with the implementation of political tasks, contributing to improving spiritual life, building a healthy cultural environment in the army, promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", strengthening the will and bravery, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the entire force. This is the solid foundation for building a comprehensively strong, "exemplary, typical" armed force of Son La province in the new period.
