Parents wonder about registering for an advanced integrated school in Go Vap

Today, May 24, is the first day of registration for admission to special schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Many parents reported that they could not register for advanced integrated schools in Go Vap district.

"My child is about to enter first grade and my family wants to register him at Le Duc Tho Primary School. However, from the morning of May 24 to the afternoon of the same day, I could not register my child on the city's primary school admission portal. I am very concerned. I respectfully request that your newspaper investigate and respond so that my family can know the information." That was one of many comments sent to Tuoi Tre Online by readers on May 24.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Trinh Vinh Thanh, Head of the Departmentof Education and Training of Go Vap district, said: "The two special schools (implementing the integrated advanced school model) of Go Vap district, Le Duc Tho Primary School and Phan Van Tri Secondary School, will enroll students for grades 1 and 6 as follows:

From May 24 to 29, 2025, only students whose current residence with their parents is in Ward 15, Go Vap District can register for Le Duc Tho Primary School. Similarly, only students whose current residence with their parents is in Go Vap District can register for Phan Van Tri Secondary School.

The above regulation exists because the Department of Education and Training implements priority regulations for students in category 1.

It is expected that on June 3, the Go Vap District Department of Education and Training will announce the results of the first and sixth grade admissions of the two schools above. After that, if there are still places, we will publicly announce on the websites of Le Duc Tho Primary School and Phan Van Tri Secondary School about the admissions for group 2."

Regarding the enrollment of special classes such as integrated English at the remaining primary and secondary schools, Mr. Thanh informed: "After enrolling grade 1 and grade 6 in the two special schools, Go Vap will enroll for general schools. After the enrollment results at the general schools are available, parents who want their children to study integrated English classes can register directly with the schools that offer this class."

It is known that in the 2025-2026 school year, Le Duc Tho Primary School will enroll 180 first graders. This has been the "hottest" school in Go Vap district for many years. Therefore, many parents want to apply for their children to study at this school.
