At 3am, Ms. Tran Thi Sen, Head of the Women's Association of Khue Trung 20A, woke up and rode her motorbike to the slaughterhouse to get fresh pork. After that, the women in the association gathered to prepare the ingredients and then transported them to the charity kitchen of the Oncology Hospital to cook 700 portions of soup for the patients. When the clock struck 11am, the hot, fragrant soups were ready to be delivered to the patients and their families.
Receiving the delicious soup, Ms. Le Thi Thu (65 years old, Thu Bon commune) who is being treated at the Oncology Hospital was moved and said: “I have been in the hospital for nearly a month now, which has cost a lot. The free meals not only help me reduce some of the costs but also give me a warm feeling, full of love from the people around me.”
Ms. Tran Thi Sen said that the "Kitchen of Love" model was launched by the Women's Association of Khue Trung 20A in 2017. From the beginning of 2025 until now, the association has organized 3 cooking sessions, donating nearly 1,400 meals to support patients at hospitals in the city.
“The funds to maintain the model are contributed by benefactors and female officers and members of the association. In addition, the association implements a model of collecting and classifying recyclable waste to raise funds for social security, to share difficulties and spread love to unfortunate and unlucky people in the community,” Ms. Sen shared.

Similarly, the “Kitchen of Love” at the Women’s Association of Khuê Trung 24 is also regularly “on fire”. Most recently, the association organized the cooking and donation of 270 portions of nutritious soup for children being treated at the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital. At the same time, it mobilized benefactors to donate 30 gifts to children with serious illnesses in difficult circumstances being treated there.
Ms. Le Thi Thuy Tien, Vice President of the Women's Union of Cam Le Ward, said that in Cam Le Ward, there are currently dozens of "Zero-VND Kitchens" operating in women's associations in residential areas, of which 15 are regularly "on fire". Every month, the kitchens give out thousands of free meals to support poor workers, patients at hospitals, the disadvantaged..., adding joy and encouraging them to overcome difficulties.
In addition to maintaining the “Kitchens of Love”, women’s associations also regularly contribute and mobilize funds, giving hundreds of charity gifts to the needy. Since the beginning of the year, Hoa Tho Dong 10 Women’s Association has used the social security fund to give dozens of gifts to orphans, disabled women, and low-income workers in the area.
Ms. Le Thi Sinh, President of Hoa Tho Dong 10 Women's Association, shared: "Although the gifts are not of great value, they are proof of the spirit of mutual love and sharing, helping those in difficult circumstances to reduce their burdens and gain more strength to rise up in life."
