With the dream of getting rich on her homeland from agriculture , Ms. Ly Thi Nga, Ngoc Tri village, Binh Gia commune, started her chicken farming business in 2020. With the goal of creating clean, high-quality chicken products, she researched and learned, and by 2024 she had standardized the process of raising microbial herbal chickens under the forest canopy, switching from commercial farming to ecological farming. From 2024 to now, she has sold over 2,000 clean chickens to the market and raised over 1,000 clean egg-laying chickens, with a revenue of over 500 million VND. In 2024, her project "Raising microbial herbal chickens under the anise canopy" won first prize nationwide in the "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" Contest organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU).
Ms. Nga shared: The model of raising chickens with medicinal herbs under the canopy of the ivy is a circular agricultural model, from organic farming to create raw materials for chicken feed to bio-safe farming. From the model, I want to bring clean and safe products to the market.
Ms. Lang Thi Tho, Doan Ket village, Na Sam commune, has also been successful with the model of processing and trading honey-marinated chewy pork products in the direction of clean agriculture. In 2024, Ms. Tho's project "Improving green transformation capacity and creating sustainable livelihoods for ethnic women through developing the Tho Lang herbal pork value chain" won the national consolation prize in the "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" Contest organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union. Since the beginning of 2025, she has sold an average of about 400 boxes of honey-marinated chewy pork per month, with a revenue of 400 million VND, creating regular jobs for 2 female workers.
Ms. Tho said: My project applies a model of raising herbal pigs using vegetarian feed, without using animal protein, antibiotics or growth stimulants, creating a source of clean, safe meat. Utilizing agricultural by-products for food, reducing waste to the environment.
Ms. Nga and Ms. Tho are just two of the pioneering women in green transformation in the province. Ms. Vu Thi Huyen Trang, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, Head of the Women's Affairs Committee, Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, said: In order to promote the role of women in green transformation, the Provincial Women's Union has directed all levels of the union to carry out propaganda activities, raise awareness of climate change, environmental protection in association with emulation movements, campaigns and programs, projects, and plans implemented by the union. Strengthen activities to support women in developing family economy , collective economy, start-up, participate in agricultural restructuring, use natural resources economically and effectively, green transformation, apply clean technology, reduce negative impacts on the environment, and develop a sustainable economy.
Accordingly, the association at all levels has focused on disseminating policies and laws on environmental protection. Strengthening propaganda and mobilizing cadres and members to implement the Campaign "Building a Family of 5 Nos and 3 Cleans", protecting the environment, preventing plastic waste, classifying waste at home, in conjunction with the criteria for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. From 2022 to now, the association at all levels has organized over 8,500 propaganda sessions with more than 400,000 participants.
Not only pioneering in green economic development, women's union members are the core force in environmental protection and plastic waste prevention. From 2022 to now, the union at all levels has completed over 800 projects and tasks in new rural construction, planted 200,000 more trees and flowers of all kinds; built over 1,800 household waste treatment pits, built 77 "Green House" models to collect recycled waste...
It can be said that women are the pioneers in green transformation and environmental protection. From creative start-up models, clean and safe production to projects and tasks associated with the community, women's union members have been affirming their important role in the green transformation process. Thereby, bringing sustainable livelihoods to families, contributing to realizing the goal of sustainable development, building an increasingly green - clean - beautiful homeland.
