Women of Phong Du Ha commune strive to develop the economy

Promoting the tradition of diligence and creativity, in recent years, women of Phong Du Ha commune have made many contributions to the development of the local economy. Dare to think, dare to do, and with practical support from preferential loans, many members have risen to become rich, making an important contribution to poverty reduction in the area.

Phong Du Ha commune has 10 villages with nearly 8,000 people, more than 80% of whom are ethnic minorities. Despite many difficulties, the commune's women's union members always promote the spirit of self-reliance, creativity, and striving to take control of their lives.

Chairwoman of the Commune Women's Union - Hoang Thi Tuyet said: "The Union has promoted the spirit of solidarity, encouraged members to overcome difficulties, actively study, work creatively, participate in movements "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families", "Women join hands to build new rural areas", especially the movement "Women do good business , help each other sustainably reduce poverty"... Since then, many effective economic models have been formed and maintained, creating positive and sustainable changes in local socio-economic development".

In Phong Du Ha, more than 90% of female workers participate in agricultural and forestry production. From small models, many women have boldly developed the economy in the direction of farms, combining forestry, animal husbandry and general services, contributing to increasing income and stabilizing life.

A typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong in Lac Muong village. With the Women's Union's loan, her family invested in raising breeding cows, growing cinnamon, providing services, earning hundreds of millions of dong each year and helping many other members develop together. Along with that, the typical models of the families of Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Thi Thuy, Hoang Thi Dung, Trieu Thi Pham, Trieu Mui Dan... have affirmed the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, and rising to become economic masters of the women's union members.

One of the important “keys” that helps Phong Du Ha women become economic masters is the preferential loan capital. The President of the Commune Women's Union - Hoang Thi Tuyet added: "Currently, the union is standing as a credit guarantee with the Provincial Social Policy Bank for 366 member households to borrow more than 23.8 billion VND. From this capital source, hundreds of women have boldly invested in expanding livestock farming, developing forestry, growing medicinal plants, doing business services... many models bring in hundreds of millions of VND in income each year, helping women affirm their management capacity and economic courage."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong in Khe Kia village shared: "With the loan from the credit association, I have the conditions to develop livestock farming, my family's economy is more stable, and my children can fully study."

The Commune Women's Union also pays special attention to supporting members after accessing capital such as: opening training classes on cultivation techniques, animal husbandry, vocational training; guiding capital management and product consumption for members... Thanks to that, more than 240 female workers have stable jobs, with an average income of 5 - 7 million VND/person/month. In particular, the implementation of Project 939 "Supporting women to start a business" has created conditions for many women to turn their ideas into reality, confidently starting a business. Each successful model opens up new opportunities for many other women to learn, replicate, and form a network of women in business, confident and united.

Not only being active in economic development, Phong Du Ha women also stand out with the spirit of solidarity and mutual love. During the period 2021 - 2025, the association organized many activities to support women in difficult circumstances with money, working days, plants and seeds... with a total value of more than 20 million VND.

The movement of women doing good business in Phong Du Ha not only contributes to poverty reduction but also plays an important role in the new rural construction program. In the coming time, the association will continue to promote activities to support members in accessing science and technology, expanding sustainable production models, promoting the savings and credit movement and spreading the spirit of "every woman is a positive factor in economic development and new rural construction".
