Phu Tho: Supporting over 3,000 women to develop their economy

The Fund's goal is to operate for women's development, to unite the community, to support credit and savings to create opportunities for members, poor, near-poor, and low-income women to develop the economy , start businesses, improve their lives and participate in social activities, thereby enhancing women's economic power, contributing to promoting gender equality. Promoting the effectiveness of its operations in recent years, in the first quarter of 2025, the Phu Tho Provincial Fund for Poor Women continued to promote credit and savings activities to support over 3,000 members and women to borrow capital to develop their family economy.

Established in 2012, with an initial capital of only 500 million VND and a state budget support of 15 billion VND (in the years 2014-2018), after 13 years of implementation, the Fund is currently operating in 9/13 districts, cities, towns, with 17 communes, wards and towns. The Fund provides suitable loans from 10.5 million VND to 50 million VND. Appropriate lending policies have helped many members, poor women, near-poor women, single women, women in difficult circumstances, ... who need small loans for production, business to improve their lives to access financial services, credit - savings. Outstanding loans as of the end of April 2025 reached over 45 billion VND/3,363 borrowers.

From the Fund's loan capital, many members and women have used it to invest in equipment and production materials to develop the economy and increase family income. Many women have risen above poverty and become rich legitimately.

Along with lending activities, the Phu Tho Provincial Fund for Poor Women always accompanies the activities of the Women's Union, well organizing activities to support women in economic development and humanitarian and charitable activities. In the first quarter of 2025, the Fund awarded a livelihood model "Garment processing workshop" in Phu Khe commune, Cam Khe district worth 10 million VND; directed and guided establishments to continue to effectively maintain livelihood models for poor women members in difficult circumstances such as "Raising black chickens" in Thanh Ba town, Thanh Ba district, "Raising commercial ducks" and "Raising stream ducks" models in My Thuan commune...

In addition, the Fund also coordinates with relevant sectors to organize training courses to improve knowledge and skills for members. In the first quarter of 2025 , the Fund coordinated with the Women's Union of Tam Nong and Doan Hung districts to organize training courses to improve production skills, develop crop cultivation, animal husbandry and prevent and treat diseases for livestock and poultry for over 300 members and women .

Not only providing capital and knowledge support for cadres, members and women, the Fund also coordinates well in organizing activities integrating the work of the Union. In the program Accompanying women in the border areas in 2025, the Fund presented 30 gifts to members and women in difficult circumstances in Ta Ba commune, Muong Te district, Lai Chau province, worth 30 million VND ; implementing the Resolution of the National Women's Congress on the application of information technology in the activities of the Union, the Fund presented 3 computers to the Women's Union of 3 communes that do not have computers for work.

To make the capital more effective, the Fund will continue to focus on developing scale, innovating operations, improving the quality of credit and savings activities; adjusting products suitable for each customer group, paying attention to increasing the loan amount for start-up households, production and business households. At the same time, strengthen training for Association officials at all levels to improve management capacity, professional skills, communication skills, management methods, and guide customers to use loan capital to ensure the right purpose, safety and efficiency so that the Fund can truly become a companion of members and poor women.
