During the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays, after weighing everything, our group decided to choose Phu Yen as the destination for our long vacation.

There are many means of transportation from the city named after Uncle Ho to Tuy Hoa: plane, train, bus… and we decided to choose the bus because the ticket price was the cheapest. Get on the bus in the evening and arrive early in the morning.
It was thought that after emerging as a phenomenon from the movie I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass , this place would be bustling and noisy with tourist groups. But strangely, Phu Yen - Tuy Hoa still maintains its slow pace of life despite welcoming many tourists.
My first impression of the land of yellow flowers and green grass was not green grass and yellow flowers but the planning efforts of Phu Yen. A girl who grew up in Saigon like me, the most familiar thing is the skyscrapers and the rows of electric wires. Therefore, the first thing I noticed was the houses. Phu Yen does not have hundred-story hotels, nor do they have houses that “have to be taller than their neighbors”, thanks to that, we can truly enjoy the gift that God has given this land: mountains and rivers.
We rented motorbikes to travel all over Phu Yen. Even though we drove hundreds of kilometers under the sun and wind of the city and coastal areas, I still found it extremely worth it. We had to go to see Phu Yen in its golden season with immense rice fields. We had to go to see the road to Mui Dien lighthouse - the place to welcome the first sunrise on the mainland, no less than the foreign movies. Bai Mon located at the foot of Mui Dien is needless to say, the sea water is emerald green, a unique beach. More interestingly, next to it is a freshwater stream, flowing from Deo Ca mountain range through the beach and then pouring into the sea, creating a strange and attractive landscape.
Many delicious and cheap dishes
If you want to be more adventurous, anyone coming to Phu Yen should go a little further to Van Hoa plateau (Son Hoa mountainous district), located at an altitude of about 400m above sea level. The slope is quite gentle, easy to walk and extremely airy. On both sides of the road are endless green forests, sometimes cassava fields, corn fields and many other crops. This red basalt land has a lot of promise for resort tourism , an ideal place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life. In particular, in this place known as Da Lat of Phu Yen, there are red gardens, which have been a "money-making" tree for local people in the past few years. Red is a type of forest tree associated with the lives of mountain people and is considered a symbol of abundance and fullness. Red fruits grow in clusters from the trunk, luxuriant from the base to the top. Unfortunately, this season the red has not yet ripened, we have to wait until the Mid-Autumn Festival.
My group also visited famous tourist attractions such as Ganh Da Dia, Nhan Tower, Nghinh Phong Tower, Thanh Luong Pagoda and Mang Lang Church. Fortunately, there was no overcharging at these famous places.
It must be said that, not only the beautiful and charming scenery, the gentle, simple and extremely hospitable local people, Phu Yen also has many delicious and cheap dishes, especially seafood such as milk oysters, blood cockles... or rustic dishes such as banh xeo, banh canh, banh nam... It is just a pity that after many days of lingering in this land, we still "brought nothing back but pictures, left nothing but footprints".
Overall, this trip was very interesting for us but not really complete, because there were still many places we could not visit, many dishes we could not taste, because the time was only 3 days and 2 nights. But we told each other "to leave a little regret as motivation to come back to this place". And if we had to use music to describe Tuy Hoa - Phu Yen, this place is like the sound of children playing lithophone. Although not in the right rhythm, it is clear, easy to listen to, and full of promise.
