Hoa Thuan Ward was established on January 5, 2005 on the basis of 380 hectares of natural area, 2,612 people belonging to 2 villages of Tam Dan commune (Phu Ninh district) and 177.5 hectares of natural area, 3,169 people belonging to 5 blocks of Tan Thanh ward (Tam Ky city).
When it was first established, more than 70% of the population of Hoa Thuan ward lived on agricultural production, the poverty rate was 7.3%. After 20 years of construction and development, the economy has now made a breakthrough, developing rapidly with increasingly synchronized infrastructure and facilities.
The economic structure is shifting rapidly towards modernity; in which, the value of industry and handicrafts accounts for 62.27%, trade and services account for 35.63%, and agriculture only 2.1%.
With the achievements, the Party Committee, government and people of Hoa Thuan ward were honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the Party and State, the Government awarded the Flag of the leading unit in the emulation movement in 2009, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Flag of the excellent emulation unit for 3 consecutive years (2018 - 2020), the Party Committee of the ward was assessed as Excellently completing its tasks for 3 consecutive years (2018 - 2021).
