On August 14, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Phu Ward, Da Nang City, said that he had issued a document directing the response to activities to celebrate the opening of the new school year at schools in the area.
The Ward People's Committee unanimously directed kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in the area not to accept congratulatory flowers on the occasion of the new school year opening.

Instead, the locality has sent an open letter to agencies, units, organizations and individuals with the hope of receiving attention to the ward's educational career in practical forms.
Contributions can be books for libraries, scholarships, bicycles, school supplies for poor students, students in difficult circumstances, sponsorship of entertainment and sports items; support for health care, nutrition, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu said the ward has 9 preschool, primary and secondary schools with 5,000 students.
Many schools in the area still lack facilities, teaching equipment is damaged and cannot be repaired due to lack of funds, while in rural areas there are still many children in difficult circumstances who need help.
According to Mr. Hieu, with the spirit of “All for beloved students - Joining hands for the cause of educating people”, he hopes that schools will not accept congratulatory flowers, because flowers will quickly fade and cause waste. Instead, practical gifts will be an encouragement and the students themselves will be the ones to benefit from these resources.
