According to The Verge , nearly five years have passed since EA announced the third installment of the hit mobile game Plants vs. Zombies , and now it's time for fans to experience this popular 'plant-and-shoot' game.
Accordingly, publisher EA has revealed that Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zombies (PvZ3) has officially launched in a limited initial phase in select countries, including the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, the Philippines, and Ireland.

Like its predecessors, PvZ3 follows the tower defense style, requiring players to strategically position various plants and trees to defend against hordes of zombies advancing towards their home. EA says the new game will feature the return of familiar plant types and new characters, along with gameplay heavily influenced by the classic combat style of the first game. PvZ3 will be free to play, but will still have small in-game purchases.

The original Plants vs. Zombies game was released on PC and Mac in 2009 before becoming available on mobile devices. The game expanded to more platforms after EA acquired the developer PopCap Games in 2011. This also led to the development of Plants vs. Zombies 2 , which launched in 2013. That was also around the time the game transitioned from a paid ($2.99) to a free-to-play title.
EA stated that PvZ3 will be available in more countries at some point in the future, after the company gathers sufficient feedback from the community following the initial limited launch.
