Press Cup 2025 celebrates 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day
The Press Cup National Football Tournament for Press Agencies is a tournament organized by Vietnam Family Magazine in collaboration with the Press Department; with the direction of the Vietnam Journalists Association, organized annually since 2016.
The tournament is meaningful in promoting the movement of physical training and sports among cadres, employees, reporters, editors, and journalists at press agencies from central to local levels.
Thereby creating a playground, improving physical and spiritual cultural life, enhancing exchange and learning among cadres, employees, reporters, editors, journalists in each press agency and between press agencies.
The tournament is also one of the activities to carry out the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho"; celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The two best representatives from the South will participate in the national finals.

The 2025 Southern Press Cup, with the Head of the Steering Committee being journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the southern region - is honored to be one of the official activities of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ho Chi Minh City towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

The 9th Press Cup 2025 in the Southern region officially opened at 8:00 a.m. on May 21 at Phu Tho Football Stadium (gate 219 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Ward 15, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City). This year, the Southern region qualifying round has the participation of 8 teams from central and local press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City.
The draw results on the afternoon of May 15th showed group A including Thanh Nien Newspaper and Tuoi Tre Newspaper teams. Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong and the Joint Forces of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper & Zing News Magazine. Group B brings together teams from Ho Chi Minh City People's Radio - VOH, Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9), Vnexpress Newspaper.

The prize for the Southern champion team will include a trophy, flag, gold medal and a cash prize of 15 million VND. The second-place team will receive a silver medal and 8 million VND, and the third-place team will receive a bronze medal and 5 million VND.
In addition, the Organizing Committee has other prizes for the Southern Press Cup such as Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, Best Referee Team, and Style Award, each worth 2 million VND.
A total of 8 teams will compete in the group stage and knockout round to find the 2 strongest candidates to represent the South in the national final round which will take place in Tu Son City (Bac Ninh Province) from June 5-7.
In particular, the national champion after being crowned in the final round of the Press Cup 2025 will represent Vietnam in a friendly match with the Thai press team on June 10 in Hanoi.
