Pù Luông, Thanh Hoá: Investing in electricity and roads to attract tourists.

Route 521C, passing through Thanh Son commune, Ba Thuoc district (Thanh Hoa province), has recently been upgraded with a 2.4 km long lighting system. This not only ensures traffic safety but also creates momentum for the development of nighttime tourism in the Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area.

Route 521C passes through the Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area, a prominent tourist destination in Thanh Hoa province , which poses many potential safety risks due to its mountainous terrain, dense fog, and lack of lighting at night.

This situation used to be a barrier to tourism activities, especially nighttime services.

However, from the end of February 2025, the 2.4 km long lighting system from Pu Luong Bocbandi Retreat resort to Central Hill Pu Luong officially came into operation, marking a new step in the development of tourism infrastructure in the area.

The project has a total investment of 6.7 billion VND, sourced from the province's Tourism Development Program.

The construction was carried out quickly, suitable for the mountainous terrain, and significantly contributed to improving the landscape and increasing connectivity between tourist service points in the area.

“Since the installation of streetlights, guests can take evening strolls, enjoy nature, and easily access service facilities. Nighttime business is also much more vibrant,” shared Mr. Do Duc Manh, Director of Pu Luong Eco Garden Resort.

According to Mr. Mạnh, in the past, tourists mainly stayed overnight due to concerns about the dark and unsafe conditions of the roads.

Now, activities such as leisurely walks, cultural exchanges, culinary experiences , or exploring homestays and local restaurants have become new and attractive experiences.

The implementation of the lighting system not only improves service quality but also creates momentum for the development of the night-time economy and promotes entrepreneurship in the community.

Many households have boldly invested in expanding their businesses, such as homestays, restaurants, and rest stops to serve tourists.

According to Mr. Lo Van Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Thuoc district, the lighting system is an important item aimed at activating the local tourism potential and improving traffic safety on key tourist routes.

"In the coming time, the district will continue to propose investment in upgrading transportation, waste treatment, building rest stops, and stabilizing the power supply to better serve tourists," Mr. Thang said.

Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area is now known as one of the outstanding green tourism destinations in Northern Vietnam, with its pristine landscapes, distinctive Thai ethnic culture, and cool climate year-round.

Investing in synchronized technical infrastructure, including lighting systems, is a necessary condition for this tourist area to rise and become a highlight on the national tourism map.

In the golden light stretching along the mountain slopes, interspersed with the babbling of streams and the distinctive scent of highland vegetation, Pu Luong at night takes on a new appearance – vibrant, safe, and full of potential.
