Promoting the film project "Guardian of the brave warrior - The mystery of King Dinh's tomb" at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious and prestigious film festivals in the world , taking place annually in the beautiful coastal city of Cannes, France. This is not only a red carpet and stars but also a gathering place for talented filmmakers, excellent film works and a vibrant market for buying and selling film copyrights. This year, the Vietnamese delegation participated in the Film Festival with many unique activities promoting cinema, tourism and culture.

At the Film Market (Marché du Film), BHD Company for the first time released a video of Johnny Tri Nguyen introducing the film project "Ho linh trang si-Bi am mo Vua Dinh" (English title: The Last Secret Of The First Emperor) to film distributors around the world at the conference, Vietnam Cine Cocktail party, at the Vietnamese booth at the film market as well as directly to many potential customers.

In addition, Deadline magazine - an American magazine specializing in cinema, Cannes Market News also reported on the film, affirming the interest of international filmmakers in this unique project.

The introduction video of the film “Ho linh trang si-Bi am toc king Dinh” was first screened at the Workshop “Vietnam - Dynamic Market in Asia and New Destination for Global Film Production” held at the Main Stage of the Film Market - Cannes Film Festival.

The workshop was organized with the support of the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Fund - VTFF (represented by Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Anh, Director of VTFF - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA).

The workshop, attended by Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan, President of VFDA; Mr. Do Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of Vietnam Cinema Department and many other filmmakers in Vietnam such as Mr. Trinh Hoan, CEO of HK Film, producer Nguyen Bich Ngoc, etc., highlighted the increasingly important role of Vietnam in the Asian film market.

Deadline magazine quoted the leader of Ninh Binh province about the film: “The producer of the film also revealed that the filming process will take place in Ninh Binh, a land famous for its beautiful landscape, and has received strong support from the province, with the participation of Mr. Tong Quang Thin, Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh province, and Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Ninh Binh province, who are the leaders who personally went to Cannes to promote the filming location in their province in the process of wanting to turn Ninh Binh into a world film studio.”

In a video sharing the project with international distributors at Cannes, Johnny Tri Nguyen shared: “Hello everyone, I am Johnny Tri Nguyen. And I am here to reveal to you about “Ho linh trang si-Bi am toc vac dinh”, the film I am making. In the film, I play one of the 7 heroes, and also take on the role of martial arts director and stunt actors. I am extremely excited to be a part of this film.

I can confirm that this will be the most epic and eye-catching Vietnamese historical action film ever made. In this film, we put a lot of effort into recreating as realistically as possible every historical detail from costumes, props to settings. The film not only exploits historical elements, but is also imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity. I hope to bring the film to the audience on the big screen as soon as possible. See you at the cinema!

While the film is being promoted to reach out to many international distributors at the Film Market at the Cannes Film Festival, in Ho Chi Minh City in recent days, the film crew is organizing an open casting.

The two casting sessions attracted many young people who love art and potential actors such as athlete and Taekwondo fighter Chau Tuyet Van, athlete Ha The Anh, actors Quoc Anh, Sy Toan, Lanh Thanh, Ma Ran Do, Tin Nguyen, model Mac Trung Kien, Mr World 2024 Tuan Ngoc... and many other young people, creating a hotter atmosphere than ever with martial arts and action groups, groups wearing ancient costumes carrying swords and ancient weapons.

On May 20 and 21, the crew continued casting in Hanoi at BHD Star Cinema Pham Ngoc Thach (No. 2, Pham Ngoc Thach, Kim Lien, Dong Da, Hanoi).

Film director Nguyen Phan Quang Binh shared: “I was really surprised and touched to see the young people so passionate and enthusiastic when coming to the casting for the film. Some of them were casting for the first time. I want to say thank you very much and wish the film had many roles so that we could work together. Your enthusiasm and love for the project is the motivation for us to try our best with the hope of having a film with many emotions to send to you."

The film is expected to start filming in 2 months around November and December 2025, and will be released nationwide in the second quarter of 2026.
