Accordingly, the subjects of application are preschool children, students of public and private schools, including students at continuing education centers following the general education program.
The tuition exemption policy does not apply to preschool, primary and secondary school students at foreign-invested educational institutions.
Specifically, Quang Nam supports 100% of tuition fees for public preschool and general education institutions.
For private educational institutions, Quang Nam will provide support at the same level as public educational institutions according to regulations (for example, currently, Resolution 17 stipulates that preschool students in urban areas pay 105,000 VND/month, and in rural areas 45,000 VND/month. The State will support this amount, the rest will be paid by parents according to the agreement with the private school).
Quang Nam currently has 725 public schools, 722 private independent preschools and 72 non-public schools.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the budget to support tuition exemption and reduction for public and private schools in the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years is more than 158 billion VND.
Previously, Quang Ninh also approved a 100% tuition exemption for 240,000 preschool children and public school students; Da Nang also planned to spend 108 billion VND to support 100% of tuition for both public and private students (except foreign-invested schools); Hai Phong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces announced full tuition support for public school students at all levels; Long An reduced tuition by 50% for preschool children under 5 years old at public schools and supported 100% of tuition for secondary school students.
