Quang Nam agrees with the Letter of Intent on the project to preserve and restore Tower F in My Son Sanctuary

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the Letter of Intent for cooperation in preserving Tower F at the My Son World Cultural Heritage proposed by India.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, up to now, the outstanding global values of My Son Cultural Heritage Site have been preserved intact according to the 1972 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage as well as related documents of the Vietnamese Government .

Thanks to the timely support of central departments, agencies, and sectors, UNESCO and international organizations, the architectural works in tower groups B, C, D and tower group G at My Son were urgently reinforced, supported, relocated, repaired, and restored.

In particular, the cooperation project between the two governments of Vietnam and India in the conservation and restoration of tower groups A, K, H in My Son, Quang Nam , in the period of 2016 - 2022 has achieved positive results. Tower groups A, K, H after restoration were highly appreciated by domestic and international experts and tourists.

On December 21, 2020, the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India issued the Vietnam - India Joint Vision Statement on Peace, Prosperity and People.

Thereby, the two Governments signed 7 agreements, memorandums of understanding and 3 programs to enhance bilateral cooperation. In which, the Indian Government agreed to fund the "Project to preserve and promote the value of Tower Group F of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Site, Duy Phu Commune, Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province".

Following the Joint Vision Statement between the Governments of Vietnam and India on Peace, Prosperity and People approved by the two Prime Ministers on December 21, 2020, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has closely coordinated with the Embassy of India to implement the agreed content.

During the period from 2020 to 2023, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province welcomed and worked with a delegation of experts from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) regarding the preparation of a report on the Project to restore and preserve Group F of Towers at My Son Cultural Heritage.
