Quang Ngai removes obstacles to procedures for extending land use rights for projects.

The leaders of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested relevant units to review and resolve obstacles in the procedures for extending land use rights for projects, especially difficulties related to determining land prices and financial obligations.

The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province held a meeting with relevant units on May 28th to hear reports and resolve issues related to extending the land use period for projects.

According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province, the process of extending land use rights for projects is currently facing some difficulties and obstacles, especially in determining land prices to calculate financial obligations when extending land use rights for cases where land is leased with annual rent payments.

Regarding this issue, the Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Do Tam Hien, requested that obstacles related to land use extension be resolved quickly through a unified understanding and application of legal regulations to address difficulties for businesses and projects, while ensuring compliance with the law and preventing losses to the state budget.

For projects implemented before the Investment Law but without an investment approval, the Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested that the enterprise management agency provide official feedback on the enterprise's operational status as a basis for implementing the next steps according to regulations.

For projects that have received investment approval but are behind schedule, adjustments to the investment approval must be required before considering extensions of land use deadlines. The Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review and compile cases with outstanding issues regarding land financial obligations to advise the Provincial People's Committee on consideration and handling in accordance with the law.

For ongoing projects in the province, the Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested that departments, agencies, and localities strengthen monitoring and guidance to ensure that units comply with the regulations of the Investment Law and the Land Law; proactively review and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles arising during the project implementation process.
