At the ceremony, Principal of Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Tran Quang Hong, together with generations of teachers and students, reviewed the 80-year history of its establishment and development. Immediately after the success of the August Revolution, Quang Ngai province established Le Khiet High School with the mission of serving the cause of education and improving the cultural level of the people.
The first school year opened on October 1, 1945. From a provincial school, the school welcomed students from the entire Inter-zone 5. Amidst the bombs and bullets during the years of resistance against the French, the school trained about 3,400 students, including nearly 1,000 high school students and many highly educated cadres who participated in the battlefields, agencies, and resistance organizations of Zone 5 and Quang Ngai province.

Due to the country's historical circumstances, after a period of inactivity, Le Khiet High School was re-established in 1990. Over the past 80 years, Le Khiet High School for the Gifted has trained more than 12,660 students, hundreds of whom were valedictorians in university entrance exams, international competitions, and the Asia Pacific region.
Continuing the tradition of Inter-zone 5 School, the School continues to train a team of internationally integrated intellectuals, innovate teaching methods in a modern direction; strive for more than 80% of staff and teachers to have doctoral and master's degrees; teach bilingual natural science subjects; increase the rate of students winning national and international awards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Tran Phuoc Hien, emphasized that in the countless difficulties of the early days of building a revolutionary education system, generations of teachers and students of Le Khiet High School always promoted the revolutionary spirit, turning the school into one of the centers for training people who are both "red" and "specialized" for Quang Ngai province and the entire Inter-zone V.
After 35 years of re-establishment, teachers and students of the school have achieved many outstanding achievements. The result is the efforts of generations of students and the great contribution of the teaching staff.

Comrade Tran Phuoc Hien suggested that Le Khiet High School for the Gifted continue to improve the quality of comprehensive education according to the motto "educational quality is the honor of the school"; create a strong change in the quality of key education to have more students win international and regional Olympiad prizes, and have more students win national prizes.
In addition, schools need to focus on educating political ideology, cultural and historical traditions, cultivating ethics and life skills; training and fostering a team of teachers with solid political qualities, ethics and professional expertise, meeting the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; innovating and improving the quality of educational management, associated with innovating the specialized school model to be suitable and effective.
