The Quang Ngai Province Fisheries Development Program to 2030, with a vision to 2045, sets the target that by 2030, the total capacity of seafood processing factories will reach 30,000 tons/year; the output of processed seafood products will reach 23,000 tons/year; 1-2 production chains linking exploitation, farming, processing, and consumption of seafood products will be formed, contributing to increasing the value of seafood processing, with an export turnover of 25 million USD/year.
To achieve this goal, businesses in Quang Ngai are ready to join the race in the deep processing segment of seafood products, through proactive investment capital, operating costs, training highly skilled human resources as well as forming a chain from purchasing to preliminary processing, processing and finding output.
The current difficulty is that large markets have strict environmental regulations and require traceability. To support businesses to overcome difficulties, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has developed and advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue specific incentive mechanisms and policies, especially land incentives; technological innovation, upgrading production lines... to increase the proportion of processed seafood as well as diversify products according to market demands.
