According to the report of Dak Plo Commune People's Committee, from July 18 to 20, some households in Dong Loc village discovered that the cows had abnormal symptoms such as fever, loss of appetite, drooling, mouth and toenail ulcers, and difficulty walking. Through inspection, 33 cows from 17 households showed symptoms of suspected disease.

Most cases occurred in adult cattle that had not been vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease in the first phase of 2025. In addition, hot and humid weather, heavy rain, and uncontrolled transportation and trading of cattle are factors that increase the risk of disease outbreaks.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Dak Plo Commune People's Committee coordinated with the Dak Pek Commune Agricultural Service Center to conduct an inspection and take samples for testing. At the same time, urgent measures were implemented such as: isolating the epidemic area, isolating infected cattle, and disinfecting barns.

To serve the epidemic prevention work, the locality has provisionally provided materials including 20 bottles of Ecoli medicine, 500 kg of lime for disinfection and 20 bottles of Bio-Cep 5. Currently, Dak Plo commune has a total herd of more than 6,199 livestock, of which 4,599 are buffaloes and cows, and the remaining herd is about 1,600 pigs.

Faced with the complicated epidemic situation, in addition to foot-and-mouth disease, the locality also warned of the risk of other epidemics such as African swine fever, anthrax, avian influenza, and lumpy skin disease.
Dak Plo Commune People's Committee has requested the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Quang Ngai province to support 4,599 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and 300 liters of disinfectant chemicals to proactively control and prevent the risk of widespread outbreaks.
