Quang Ngai province has low land use fee collection rates.

After the first five months of 2026, Quang Ngai province had only collected 631 billion VND in land use fees, reaching only 19% of the projected target. The Provincial People's Committee requested a review of land funds and the removal of obstacles to accelerate revenue collection and ensure the disbursement of public investment.

In the first five months of the year, Quang Ngai province collected 613 billion VND in land use fees.

According to the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, the central government allocated 3,100 billion VND for land use fees in 2026, while the Provincial People's Council allocated 3,328 billion VND, an increase of 228 billion VND compared to the central government's allocation. Monitoring the land use fee collection for the first five months of the year shows that the total revenue collected in the province is currently 631 billion VND, reaching only 19% of the allocated target. The slow progress in land use fee collection will directly affect the disbursement of public investment projects in the province, as well as the fulfillment of the 15% contribution to the central government budget.

To achieve the set goals, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam requested the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones in the eastern part of Quang Ngai province to urgently report on the situation of land use fee collection in their areas during the first five months of the year, and the projected figures for the whole year 2026 according to the budget allocated by the Provincial People's Committee.

In addition, the Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested a report on difficulties and obstacles and proposals for implementing the land use fee collection budget for 2026; a review of projects, residential areas, and land funds with remaining capacity to organize the collection of land use fees in 2026. At the same time, a report and proposal should be submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and adjustment of the land use fee collection budget to ensure it reflects the local reality before June 6, 2026.

The Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Quang Ngai Provincial Tax Department the responsibility to preside over and coordinate with the Departments of Finance, Agriculture and Environment, and the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to review and report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and adjustment of the land use fee revenue estimates of localities to ensure they are realistic, striving to collect the highest possible amount of land use fees, and absolutely preventing any waste of land resources in the province. The deadline for completion is before June 5, 2026.
