Quang Tri province is considering proposals for 6 projects from the Newtechco consortium.

A consortium comprising Newtechco Group JSC, Makara Capital Partners Pte., Ltd, and Sakae Corporate Advisory Pte. Ltd. has proposed studying the investment in six tourism , resort, entertainment, hotel, and golf course projects in Quang Tri province, worth trillions of VND.

On the afternoon of June 19th, the Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Vo Van Hung, held a working session with the consortium of Newtechco Group JSC, Makara Capital Partners Pte., Ltd, and Sakae Corporate Advisory Pte. Ltd (the investor consortium) regarding their proposal to study investment projects in Quang Tri province.

At the meeting, Ms. Vo Thi Tuan Anh, Chairwoman of Newtechco Group JSC, representing the consortium of investors, reported on the proposal to study the investment in 6 projects in Quang Tri, including:

The 5-star hotel and residential project in the Palm Oil Park, Dong Ha City, covers an area of ​​3.49 hectares with a total investment of over 1,630 billion VND. The project includes a 15-16 story hotel complex with 250 rooms accommodating 500-700 guests per day and a 4-5 story commercial residential area.

The Trung Chi Lake mixed-use housing project in Ward 5, Dong Ha City, has a total construction capital of over 1,463 billion VND and includes 198 houses.

The Tan Do Lake Tourist Resort Service Area project in Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district, has a total investment of over 98.7 billion VND and an estimated area of ​​8.16 hectares.

The Gio Linh Beach Resort, Entertainment and Urban Complex Project – Phase 1 covers approximately 204 hectares. The urban tourism and service complex and golf course in Trung Giang commune, Gio Linh district, covers approximately 145 hectares. The Khe Sanh Coffee Processing Plant Project is located in Huong Hoa district.

During the meeting, representatives from various departments, agencies, and the consortium of investors discussed obstacles in investment procedures, preliminary survey results, and assessments of the suitability between the planning and the scale and total investment of the proposed projects.

Accordingly, the investor's proposed two projects—a 5-star hotel, housing in the Palm Park, and a mixed-use residential area around Trung Chi Lake—are currently inconsistent with the land use plan until 2030 of Dong Ha City and also inconsistent with the Dong Luong Ward zoning plan approved in 2014 and the Ward 5 zoning plan approved in 2013.

Regarding the Gio Linh Beach Resort, Entertainment and Urban Complex – Phase 1 and the Trung Giang Commune Urban Service and Golf Course Complex, a comparison with the maps provided by the investor reveals that both projects overlap with the mineral exploration and exploitation plan already approved by the competent authorities.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung expressed his hope that the Newtechco consortium of investors would actively coordinate with the provincial departments and agencies to resolve obstacles and promptly submit specific proposals for each project so that the province has a basis to consider granting investment approval.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to connect with and continue providing information and guidance to investors to survey and research, and to expedite the completion of the procedural documents for the proposed projects, so that the next steps can be taken.
