Attending the press conference were Secretary General of the National Assembly , Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong and Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai.
At the press conference, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong said that regarding personnel work, according to the Resolution of the Central Committee, at the 8th Session (October 2024), the National Assembly will complete the positionof President .
Regarding the positions of Minister of Finance and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bui Van Cuong said that Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son will continue to hold the positions concurrently until the National Assembly approves the Government's appointment proposal.
Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai added that according to the plan of the Central Executive Committee, from now until the end of 2024, the focus will be on perfecting the positions of senior leaders and Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen the Party's leadership role in the tasks of socio-economic development, culture, national defense-security, and foreign affairs; preparing for Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
“The personnel consolidation ensures that the political system is more complete, more united, more harmonious, stronger, operates more effectively and efficiently, and creates more favorable and better conditions for the task of socio-economic development, improving people's lives; strengthens ties with the people, and consolidates people's trust in the Party and the State,” said Ms. Hai.
The Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee also said that the current personnel work is arranged "up, down, in, out" according to the requirements of the task, the work needs and the ability to complete the task of each specific individual. "The National Assembly's approval of 3 Deputy Prime Ministers and 2 Ministers at the 8th extraordinary session also aims to achieve the above purpose," said Ms. Hai.
Previously, at the 8th Extraordinary Session, the National Assembly dismissed Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh from the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint him as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
The National Assembly also dismissed Mr. Le Minh Tri from the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and elected Mr. Tri to the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court at the proposal of the President.
At the same time, approve the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss Mr. Tran Luu Quang from the position of Deputy Prime Minister because he was mobilized, assigned and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Head of the Central Economic Commission.
In addition, the National Assembly elected Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien to hold the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy at the proposal of the President. The National Assembly also passed a Resolution on supplementing the number of Deputy Prime Ministers so that the Government of the 15th National Assembly has 5 Deputy Prime Ministers. Approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Ho Duc Phoc to hold the position of Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term; and at the same time, continue to serve as Minister of Finance until the position of Minister of Finance is completed.
In addition, the Prime Minister approved the proposal to appoint Mr. Bui Thanh Son as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term; and continue to serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Do Duc Duy to the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh to the position of Minister of Justice for the 2021-2026 term.
Approving the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss Mr. Le Minh Khai from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh from his position. Dismissing Mr. Le Thanh Van from the position of National Assembly delegate of the 15th tenure.
