
The National Assembly and people of the whole country pay tribute to teachers
Speaking at the opening of the discussion session, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh stated that today, on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, the National Assembly will spend a whole day discussing three draft laws in the field of education and a draft Resolution on a number of outstanding mechanisms and policies to make breakthroughs in education and training development.

The discussion session was broadcast live on national radio and television, on a very meaningful day, the National Assembly and people of the whole country paid tribute to teachers, honoring the tradition of respecting teachers.

On this meaningful occasion, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh respectfully sends to the National Assembly delegates who are teachers, former teachers, education managers and all teachers across the country my best wishes and deepest gratitude.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh said that our Party and State always identify education and training as the top national policy, the path to creating the strength, future and destiny of the nation, and the cause of the Party, State and all people.

The Vice President of the National Assembly affirmed that throughout history, education has always accompanied the destiny of the nation, contributing to improving people's knowledge, training human resources, nurturing talents, building people and developing Vietnamese intelligence. The achievements of the country today, as well as the aspirations of tomorrow, all have the silent but extremely great contributions of the team of teachers, who have devoted their lives to the noble cause of "cultivating people".
Creating a superior legal corridor and mechanism for education to develop strongly
Thoroughly implementing the Central Committee's direction, the National Assembly has been promptly institutionalizing the Party's major policies. At the Ninth Session, the National Assembly passed the Law on Teachers and two important Resolutions on tuition exemption and support and universalization of preschool education. At the Tenth Session, the last session of the XV term, the National Assembly continued to discuss and consider approving three draft laws on education and training; specific mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs; and at the same time, consider the investment policy for the National Target Program on modernization and improvement of education and training quality for the 2026-2035 period.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that these are important steps to concretize Resolution 71 - NQ/TW, creating a legal corridor and outstanding mechanism for education to develop strongly to realize the vision by 2045: building a modern, equitable and high-quality national education system, among the top 20 countries; striving to have at least 5 Vietnamese higher education institutions among the top 100 universities in the world in a number of fields according to prestigious international rankings.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly wished teachers good health, happiness, and continued faith and enthusiasm, and continued to make worthy contributions to the noble cause of "cultivating people" for the young generation of Vietnam and the future of the country.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh said that on the morning of October 22 and November 17, the National Assembly listened to the Minister of Education and Training, authorized by the Prime Minister, present the Report on 3 draft laws and a draft resolution on a number of outstanding mechanisms and policies to make breakthroughs in education and training development. The Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society presented the Report on the examination of the draft laws and draft resolutions.

At the discussion session, the Group received 78 comments on three draft laws and 75 comments on the draft Resolution. The comments from the delegates were fully compiled by the Secretary General of the National Assembly and sent to the delegates.

With initiative, receptiveness and a high sense of responsibility, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that from November 14 to now, the Ministry of Education and Training has had three reports explaining the acceptance and initial opinions of National Assembly deputies sent together with draft laws updated compared to the version submitted to the National Assembly on October 22, along with a comparison of the contents that have been accepted and revised.

In today's discussion session, based on the draft law dossier, the Verification Report, and the Report on Acceptance and Explanation of the Ministry of Education and Training, to improve the quality of draft laws and resolutions, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested that delegates continue to give their opinions on the issues that have been suggested for discussion.
