On November 20, the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien organized a seminar to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day with the participation of generations of teachers, former leaders of the sector and representatives of educational institutions in the province. Speaking at the program, Ms. Hoang Tuyet Ban - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien expressed her emotion when meeting again many veteran teachers, those who have devoted their lives to the cause of educating people in Dien Bien.

Ms. Hoang Tuyet Ban emphasized that the tradition of “Respecting teachers and valuing education” has always been the source of nurturing the development of the industry. For nearly half a century, thousands of teachers have crossed streams and forests every day to reach students in remote, isolated and border areas, creating a foundation for Dien Bien education to achieve many proud results in recent years.
Ms. Hoang Tuyet Ban informed that in the 2024-2025 school year and the first half of the 2025-2026 school year, the provincial education sector continued to maintain stability and made many clear strides. The province currently has 480 schools and centers; 7,355 classes with more than 209,000 students, of which ethnic minority students account for over 86%. All preschool and general education levels implement educational programs in a systematic and scientific manner; the quality of both general and advanced education has been improved; students' communication, cooperation, and problem-solving skills have changed positively.

The results of the 2025 high school graduation exam continued to be a bright spot as the graduation rate increased compared to the previous year; many subjects had average scores higher than the average of the Northern mountainous region. In particular, the number of exams with scores of 9 or higher increased significantly, reflecting the effectiveness of innovation in formal teaching methods. The work of training excellent national students also recorded impressive results: the Dien Bien team in 2025 had a higher number of awards than in 2024; many subjects such as Biology, Literature, History, Geography continued to maintain their achievements with First, Second, and Third prizes.

Along with improving the quality of teaching, Dien Bien is also one of the leading localities in the Northern mountainous region in digital transformation. Currently, 100% of educational institutions use electronic transcripts and school management software; the industry database is completed; all managers and teachers are trained in AI application skills in teaching and management. These strong changes are contributing to bringing Dien Bien education closer to the model of "Digital School - Digital Teacher - Digital Student".

In the field of education in ethnic minority and border areas, the province continues to invest heavily in infrastructure. In 15 border communes, each commune has built a new inter-level boarding school. Notably, the Si Pa Phin Inter-level Primary and Secondary Boarding School, with a total investment of 228.5 billion VND, is expected to be put into use in early 2026. In November 2025 alone, the whole province started construction on 9 more school projects with a total capital of nearly 1,900 billion VND, aiming to complete before the 2026-2027 school year. This is not only an investment in education but also has strategic significance for security and defense at the border frontline.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Quy - Former Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, former Director of the Department of Education and Training highly appreciated the dedication of the teaching staff. Mr. Le Van Quy shared: "In the face of many difficulties, the fact that Dien Bien education has achieved many outstanding achievements is a clear demonstration of the dedication, responsibility and innovative spirit of the teaching staff. I believe that with the current foundation, Dien Bien education will continue to make breakthroughs when Resolution 71-NQ/TW is widely implemented."

On this occasion, the Department of Education and Training expressed its deep gratitude to generations of teachers through the years and affirmed that the whole sector will continue to strive to achieve major goals, promote digital transformation, improve the quality of education in ethnic minority areas, develop a team of "both red and professional" and build a humane, modern and disciplined educational environment.

The discussion ended in a warm and affectionate atmosphere, expressing respect for those who have been contributing to the cause of "growing people" on the heroic land of Dien Bien.
