In the first 15 days of November 2025, Vietnam exported 8,244 tons of pepper worth 52.6 million USD, according to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA). Simexco Dak Lak continued to lead in export volume with 786 tons, followed by Olam with 716 tons, Haprosimex JSC with 623 tons, Phuc Sinh with 605 tons and Nedspice Vietnam with 488 tons. The US remained the largest consumer market with 1,888 tons, while the UAE reached 1,480 tons and China recorded 495 tons.
Compared to the first 16 days of October 2025, the export volume from the US remained stable, while the UAE and Chinese markets showed clearer signs of recovery. This change helped pepper exports continue to maintain a positive growth rate in the context of supply in many producing countries being affected by the weather.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year to mid-November, Vietnam's pepper export turnover reached 1.45 billion USD, exceeding the 1.3 billion USD of the whole year 2024. This is considered an important milestone for the pepper industry, especially at a time when supply is still under pressure due to drought and unseasonal rains occurring in many growing areas.
In contrast, Vietnam imported 804 tons of pepper in the first half of November, equivalent to 5.1 million USD. Haprosimex JSC and Vietnam Spices Company each imported 112 tons, mainly from Cambodia with 434 tons and Brazil with 224 tons. The increasing import trend shows that the demand for additional domestic supplies is increasing to compensate for the decrease in output due to prolonged weather effects.

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,099 USD/ton, and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,666 USD/ton.
Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper price was at USD 6,175/ton. Malaysian ASTA black pepper price remained stable at USD 9,200/ton; the country’s ASTA white pepper price reached USD 12,300/ton.
Vietnam's black pepper price today is stable at a high level, trading at 6,400 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,600 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,050 USD/ton.
US President Donald Trump has signed an Executive Order amending the scope of reciprocal tariffs announced in April this year. Under the new regulations, a number of eligible agricultural products will be removed from the tariff list, meaning they will no longer be subject to additional tariffs. Exempted product groups include coffee, tea, tropical fruits, juices, cocoa, spices, bananas, citrus fruits, tomatoes, and many other products. This regulation will take effect from November 13.
According to Thanh Nien Newspaper, many Vietnamese pepper businesses expressed their excitement at the news that the US exempted reciprocal taxes. Vietnam is currently the world's largest pepper producer and exporter, while the US is the largest consumer market, accounting for 25% of total transactions. In the first 10 months of the year, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 1.4 billion USD, up 26% in volume and 34% in price over the same period. However, export turnover to the US increased by only 4.3% due to a sharp decrease in output because reciprocal taxes had caused prices to increase.
The US lifting of this tax rate opens up great expectations for Vietnamese businesses, as this is the most important market for the pepper industry. Many units expect the number of orders to recover in the coming time, leading to improvements in total revenue and competitiveness.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) believes that the US tax exemption is a favorable opportunity for Vietnam to regain market share. However, businesses wishing to increase exports still need to fully meet import standards, quality requirements, certification, food safety and US customs regulations. In addition, normal import taxes are still applied, so businesses must continue to strictly comply to maintain their presence in this market.
