From that thatched roof classroom
Ta Phin Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities was established in 1955, during the most difficult days of the mountainous commune of Sinh Phinh ( Dien Bien province). At that time, the classrooms were just thatched and bamboo rooms leaning against the mountainside, with rudimentary desks and chairs, and few books. There was a time when teachers and students had to carry stones, mix mortar, and build temporary walls together to have a place to study. Amidst the hardships, the joy of teaching and learning still shone on every face.
Mr. Tran Dang Vuong, former Principal, recounted those early days as unforgettable memories: the difficulties were so numerous that they seemed insurmountable, but thanks to the care of the Party Committee, the government and especially the teachers' love for the profession and their desire to spread knowledge, the small school still stood strong. In the midst of hardship, the people's trust in the school was gradually built, supporting the teachers on their journey of spreading knowledge.

When the scale was expanded and the infrastructure was invested, Ta Phin seemed to be given a new breath of life. Solid classrooms were built in the middle of a green campus, learning materials were increasingly complete, and the educational environment was cared for every day. Since then, the school has been more stable and developed firmly, the number of classes and students has increased steadily every year.
Currently, the school has 31 dedicated teachers and staff, guiding 497 students at two campuses. They are teachers who spend their youth on the blackboard and white chalk, treating students like their own children, and the school as their second home. Many teachers have achieved the title of excellent teachers and emulation fighters; for many consecutive years, the school has been recognized as an "Advanced Labor Collective".
Former teacher Nguyen Thi Thuy recalls the time when the school was still facing many difficulties: despite the shortage, teachers and students were not discouraged. With perseverance and a sense of responsibility, they maintained the number of students, improved the quality of teaching, and created the foundation for the school to grow as it is today.

Come to the sweet fruit season
Along with the changes of Sinh Phinh, Ta Phin Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has also grown strongly. Generations of students who have grown up here have continued the tradition of studiousness. The rate of students completing primary school for many years has reached 100%; the rate of class transfer is always almost absolute. The rate of good and excellent completion of subjects according to Circular 27 is maintained above 20%; the number of students winning prizes in district and provincial level competitions increases with each school year.
Mr. Mua A Thao – a former student shared that his days studying in Ta Phin instilled in him the will to overcome difficulties and the love of knowledge. That is also what today’s students continue to nurture.
Chang Thi Linh, a student of class 5A4, talked about her dream with bright eyes: this final year, I will try to study well to not let down my teachers.
Teachers who have been with the school for many years have quietly contributed and carried out well the movements "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", "Each teacher is an example of self-study and creativity", building a friendly learning environment, where each child grows up in love and is encouraged to develop.

Continuing the 70-year journey
Looking to the future, the school continues to innovate its curriculum and teaching methods; focusing on comprehensive education, promoting students' self-study and creativity. Principal Nguyen Trung Nghia affirmed that this is a continuous task, associated with the spirit of Resolution 29 on educational innovation.
The school also prioritizes building a team of qualified and dedicated teachers; at the same time, it strengthens coordination with local Party committees, authorities, departments, organizations and people to create a combined strength for the cause of educating people.
Vice Chairman of Sinh Phinh Commune People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Cong Tru assessed that Ta Phin Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has become the trust of parents over the past 70 years. He hopes that the school will continue to maintain its tradition, achieve many new achievements, contribute to improving people's knowledge, training human resources and brightening the future for children in the highlands.
Seventy years, the small school at the foot of the mountain has gone through many rainy and sunny seasons. And for the same amount of time, the teachers here have persistently kept the flame of knowledge burning, so that each generation of students can confidently step out into the wider world from this beloved school.
