On the side of Hue city leaders, there were comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee.
At the ceremony, Dr. Hoang Bach Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Education and Training, announced Decision No. 2346/QD-TTg dated October 23, 2025 of the Prime Minister on merging Hue Medical College into Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
In his speech, Dr. Le Dinh Nghi, Director of the Department of Personnel Organization (Ministry of Education and Training) emphasized that the Ministry of Education and Training is committed to closely coordinating with the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Hue City to direct Hue University, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and relevant agencies and units to hand over and receive the current status of personnel, finance, assets, and students of Hue Medical College under the People's Committee of Hue City to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, a member university of Hue University under the Ministry of Education and Training, according to regulations. The merger and reorganization process must ensure normal operations, legitimate and legal rights and interests of the parties involved, and prevent negativity, loss, and waste of finance and assets.
On behalf of the leaders of Hue city, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue city, affirmed: Developing the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital according to the national school-hospital model, towards achieving international standards in education, training and healthcare is an important political task of the Party, the State and Hue city, contributing to building Hue city into a heritage, green, smart urban area with the typical identity of Vietnam, one of the major cultural, tourism and specialized healthcare centers of the Southeast Asian region.
On behalf of the leadership of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Principal of the school, made a speech accepting the assignment and called on all cadres, lecturers, civil servants, employees, trainees and students to promote the highest spirit of solidarity, responsibility, creativity, initiative, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility for the common good, for the sustainable development of the school, the education and training sector, the health sector; together preserve and promote the good traditional values, the unique identities of the two units, blending into a new identity - the identity of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University merged: bigger, stronger, more distinctive and more sustainable; Together, we are determined to successfully implement the set strategic goals, build Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy into a leading training, research and technology transfer center for medicine and pharmacy in the region and the country, with international prestige, contributing to improving the quality of health care for the people and sustainable development of the country.
