Domestic pepper prices remain calm in major growing regions.
Pepper prices on the morning of November 21 in the Central Highlands and the Southeast continued to be stable, without any fluctuations compared to yesterday. In Dak Lak, the purchase price was still 146,500 VND/kg, equal to the price in Dak Nong. This was the highest price in the region during the day. In Chu Se of Gia Lai, the market traded at 145,000 VND/kg, reflecting a calm state that lasted for many days.
In the Southeast, the price level is similar when Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc both maintain the level of 145,000 VND/kg. Domestic supply is quite stable, and purchasing power has not shown any new momentum.

Pepper prices may continue to increase, growers need to sell in batches
Vietnam is currently the world's number one pepper producer and exporter, while the US is the largest consumer market with about 25% of the global market share. In the first 10 months of the year, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 1.4 billion USD, up 26% over the same period last year. This growth also comes from an average pepper price that is 34% higher.
However, export turnover to the US increased by only 4.3% due to the decrease in sales volume when prices were increased by reciprocal taxes. Therefore, the news that the US has removed the tax has helped Vietnamese businesses expect a strong recovery from this most important market.
In the context of opening up opportunities, experts recommend that growers should not sell in bulk when pepper prices show signs of rising. Dividing the output into sales in batches will help limit risks and maintain better profits. Growers also need to prioritize transactions with reputable businesses and agents to ensure contracts, quality and limit price disputes.
From the business side, taking advantage of tax incentives when re-entering the US market is an important factor in increasing export turnover. In addition, developing deep processing and expanding new markets helps ensure stability for the pepper industry in the context of increasingly high global competition.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association assessed that this is a favorable time for Vietnam to improve its position in the US, but businesses must fully comply with requirements on quality control, food safety, origin certification and import procedures.
World pepper prices remain high according to updates from IPC
In the international market, the International Pepper Community (IPC) recorded that the latest pepper transaction price was still at a high level. Indonesian Lampung black pepper reached 7,099 USD/ton, while Muntok white pepper remained at 9,666 USD/ton.
In Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper remained stable at USD 6,175/ton; Malaysia also remained stable with ASTA black pepper at USD 9,200/ton and white pepper at USD 12,300/ton.
Vietnam’s pepper export prices today remain stable at a high level compared to many other countries. Black pepper 500g/l is traded at 6,400 USD/ton, 550g/l at 6,600 USD/ton, and white pepper stands at 9,050 USD/ton.
Pepper price forecast for the coming time: Upward trend still dominates
Market developments show that pepper prices in the coming time are likely to continue to maintain an upward trend. The most important reason is that global supply in 2025 is estimated to be lower than last year, while demand in major markets such as the US, Europe and the Middle East is recovering strongly.
The US has just removed reciprocal tariffs on many agricultural products, including pepper. As import costs decrease, demand is expected to increase again, creating a new push for Vietnamese pepper prices in both domestic and international markets. Orders may appear more frequently from the first quarter of 2026, especially for the high-quality black pepper and processed white pepper segments.
In addition, supplies from Brazil and Indonesia are under pressure due to harsh weather, making the amount of pepper available for export not too abundant. When the market is short of goods, pepper prices often increase cyclically. Vietnam benefits significantly from this situation.
Experts predict that if there are no unexpected changes in the weather, domestic pepper prices may increase by VND5,000 to VND10,000 per kilogram in the next few months. In the international market, the price of 500g/l black pepper from Vietnam is likely to approach USD6,800 per ton, while white pepper may rise to USD9,300-9,500 per ton in the first half of 2026.
The upward trend of pepper prices is considered more stable than in previous years due to the fact that the global demand for food processing, medicinal herbs and spices has not decreased, while new supplies have not expanded promptly. Therefore, the prospect of continued price increases is still the preferred scenario in the short and medium term.
