Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong said that from November 16 to 21, the whole province experienced heavy rains over a wide area, especially on November 19 and 20, the rainfall exceeded many historical milestones. The storm circulation combined with heavy rain caused the water level of rivers and streams to rise suddenly, causing flooding from 1-3m deep in a series of residential areas along the river.

Many important national highways such as 27C, 27B, 26, 26B, 1B as well as provincial and district roads were cut off. At Khanh Le and Khanh Son passes, serious landslides caused human casualties and significantly hindered rescue work.

Faced with extremely complicated developments, Khanh Hoa province has activated all disaster response plans at the highest risk level, mobilizing the entire political system. Working groups of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Committee are constantly present in vulnerable areas to directly direct and support the people. In the deeply flooded area of Zone 18, the authorities used canoes, motorboats and many special vehicles to approach each household, bringing the elderly, children, pregnant women and people with disabilities to safety.
