
The event gathered managers, leading experts, scholars and researchers from Vietnam, China, Thailand, Romania and other countries, focusing on exchanging academic progress and important scientific achievements in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular, endocrine, respiratory, anti-aging and cancer diseases under the guidance of the theory of Lac pathology.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. O Quoc Quyen, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, said that traditional medicine of Vietnam and China has similar origins. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and is also the Year of Humanitarian Exchange between the two countries, in which cooperation in traditional medicine plays an important role.
"The 21st International Forum on Pathology is not only an academic event of international stature but also an opportunity to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of traditional medicine, towards the modernization and internationalization of traditional medicine, contributing to the building of a common medical community of humanity," said Mr. O Quoc Quyen.

The President of the Vietnam Association of Traditional Medicine, Mr. Truong Viet Binh, emphasized that the theory of Lac pathology is a very important doctrine. As a key academic foundation, the International Forum of Lac pathology has led the pioneering research trend for many years, promoting the connection between theoretical innovation and clinical practice.
“We are delighted to see the theory of Lac disease continuously being effectively promoted under the endorsement of modern science. Its systematic approach and unique effectiveness in preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and other diseases is a successful example for the modernization of traditional medicine in many countries, including Vietnam,” said Mr. Truong Viet Binh.
He expressed his hope that in the future, he would develop deeper and more extensive cooperation with research institutions in China and other countries to jointly conduct academic research and share knowledge on Lac disease.

Vice Principal of the Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine, Mr. Doan Quang Huy said that the theory of Lac disease is increasingly being developed and perfected, with many innovative achievements of great scientific value, contributing to the modernization of traditional medicine on a global scale.
"The Academy is committed to integrating Lac disease research results into the curriculum and research training system, encouraging lecturers and students to conduct in-depth research to contribute to promoting innovation in traditional medicine," said Associate Professor Doan Quang Huy.
The theory of Luo disease has a long history, originating from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. In the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon, the concept of Luo meridians was first established, laying the foundation for the theory of meridians. Through many generations of clinical practice, the theory of Luo disease has gradually formed with its own characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine.
Today, the theory of Luo disease continues to be developed and becomes a model for the inheritance and innovation of traditional medicine. Under the guidance of prominent experts such as Professor Wu Yiling and more than 40 years of research, the classical academic thinking on Luo disease has been combined with modern medical achievements to form a new field of study called Luo disease in Chinese medicine with two main directions: the theory of Qi and Meridians.
Ms. Tu Xuan Ba, Deputy Secretary General of the World Federation of Traditional Medicine Associations, emphasized that the Chinese Government always attaches importance to the development of traditional medicine, continuously increases support and issues many policies to promote high-quality development of this field.
Not only has the national key laboratory for innovation and transformation of Luobei theory been established, the field of Luobei Chinese Medicine has also been included in the list of key national disciplines. Many high-quality evidence-based research works have been published in the world's leading medical journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Nature Medicine and European Heart Journal.

She expressed her hope that this year's forum will continue to promote academic exchanges, international scientific and technological cooperation, and the development of global standards, to jointly develop modern traditional medicine and contribute to the common health community of humanity.
Mr. Wu Guoquan emphasized that China always attaches importance to inheriting, innovating and strengthening international cooperation in the field of traditional medicine. This forum is not only an important platform for academic exchange on Lac disease, but also an important opportunity to promote cooperation between Vietnam and China.
The Chinese Embassy in Vietnam will continue to play a bridging role, supporting research institutes, universities, hospitals and enterprises of the two countries to expand multifaceted cooperation, jointly promote the modernization and internationalization of traditional medicine, and contribute to building a common health community for mankind.

At the forum, experts also discussed in depth the achievements of internationalization of traditional medicine, current challenges and future development prospects.
The forum took place in Hanoi, Vietnam for 3 days, from November 21 to 23.
During the opening ceremony, the document “Guidelines for the diagnosis of cardiopulmonary qi deficiency in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)”, compiled by 33 experts from China, the UK, the US, Thailand and Canada, was officially published.
This document first put forward the pathological viewpoint of “cardiopulmonary qi deficiency” in the stable phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, providing a theoretical basis for the “cardiopulmonary co-treatment” method and having important significance in guiding clinical practice.
