Decision to remove Mr. Le Quang Huy from the National Assembly

The National Assembly Standing Committee has issued a resolution to dismiss Mr. Le Quang Huy from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

On the afternoon of October 6, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee held a conference to consider and decide on the dismissal of Mr. Le Quang Huy, a National Assembly deputy of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province, from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Accordingly, based on the Constitution, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and relevant legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent agencies; based on the submission of the Standing Committee of the Delegation Work Committee.

Considering Mr. Le Quang Huy's application to resign from his duties as a National Assembly delegate on September 22, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted by secret ballot, and issued Resolution 1854 on the dismissal of Mr. Le Quang Huy from his duties as a National Assembly delegate of the 15th tenure.

According to the announcement of the Party Central Office, on the morning of October 6, at the 13th Party Central Committee Conference, the Central Committee agreed to let Mr. Le Quang Huy resign from the position of member of the 13th Party Central Committee Executive Committee according to his personal wishes.

The Central Committee also gave opinions on personnel so that the Politburo could decide to introduce the 15th National Assembly to elect the position of Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 29, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee held a conference to review and decide on personnel work.

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and relevant legal provisions, and based on the opinions of competent authorities, the National Assembly Standing Committee agrees to allow Mr. Le Quang Huy, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee and Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, to take leave from October 1 at his personal request.

At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee assigned Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan to be in charge of, direct and manage the activities of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment until the position of Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment is completed.

Mr. Le Quang Huy was born in 1966, from Hanoi. He has a PhD in information technology and is a civil engineer.

Before leaving his positions, Mr. Huy was a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a delegate to the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th National Assembly.

Mr. Huy was Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment for the 12th and 14th terms.

From March 2014 to October 2017, he was Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.

Then, from April 2021, he was Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the 14th and 15th National Assembly.
