Range Rover SV Black Edition costs nearly 30 billion if it comes to Vietnam?
Land Rover is "blackening" the summer of 2025 with Black Edition versions for three models: Defender, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, but not for the masses.

In fiscal 2024 (ending March 2025), Jaguar Land Rover sales will reach nearly 432,000 vehicles, a significant increase compared to the same period last year – a growth of up to 22%. This positive performance is mainly due to Land Rover rather than Jaguar. Notably, the Defender saw the biggest growth, up 53% to lead the way, followed by the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Premium. So it’s no real surprise that JLR is launching new special editions for all three models.
A few days ago, the Indian-backed British automaker gave its mid-size luxury SUV Range Rover Sport SV a black paint job, creating the Black Edition. As the name suggests, the company doesn’t “pretend to be dark” like some other brands that still use colors other than black, but actually applies a monochrome style. But that turned out to be just the start. A few days later, Land Rover announced the Defender OCTA Black Edition – a special edition that isn’t limited to the US. Indeed, while the Range Rover Sport SV Black has been priced for markets like the UK and Australia, there’s no word on the US. The Defender OCTA Black, on the other hand, has its own press release for North America. Now, the British automaker has completed the Black Edition trio with the Range Rover SV Black Edition, and we're back to square one – they've announced it on their international portals and provided pricing for Australia and the UK, but the US market is once again absent. Specifically, in Australia, the starting price is 464,000 AUD, about 7.9 billion VND (on-the-road price), and in the UK it is 188,025 GBP, equivalent to 6.65 billion VND for the short wheelbase (SWB) version and 204,925 GBP, nearly 7.25 billion VND for the long wheelbase (LWB) version. Of course, this is the most expensive model of the three Black Edition models.
The Range Rover SV Black is special in its own right, though – from late 2025 it will join the Range Rover SV Serenity and SV Intrepid in all-black trim, making it the darkest, most mysterious Range Rover ever created. The exterior is completely painted in Narvik Gloss Black with details that were originally chrome-plated but now will be finished in sync with this mysterious color, including the car's multi-spoke wheels. The interior features a new Ebony Near‑Aniline colour scheme. The range will also be fitted with next-generation Pirelli P Zero tyres, an industry first, and the SV Black comes with a rather unusual feature – a haptic floor. Specifically, “Range Rover is expanding its pioneering sound and wellness technology” with Body‑And‑Soul rear seats and the world’s first haptic floor.
The floor is equipped with transducers under the thick carpet, which can vibrate to music or one of six built-in wellness programs, to enhance the listening experience or help passengers relax. Under the hood, the Range Rover SV Black Edition retains the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing a maximum capacity of 615 horsepower and a maximum torque of 749 Nm. This heart of the special Range Rover SV will be combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4-wheel drive system and equipped with 4-wheel steering. If any Vietnamese tycoon likes the Range Rover SV Black Edition, the price to pay could be nearly 30 billion VND, almost twice as expensive as the price of the Lamborghini Urus Performante, or much higher than the Aston Martin DBX707 which costs from 23 billion VND in Vietnam, but the power is not as good.
