Coach Xabi Alonso has targeted Rodri as a priority target, after the Royal team was defeated by PSG in the FIFA Cub World Cup semi-finals earlier this month.
Although Pep Guardiola does not want to lose the key midfielder who won the 2024 Ballon d'Or, Real still believes they can lure Rodri with an attractive offer.

Rodri is trying to regain form after a serious knee ligament injury that has kept him off the pitch since September last year.
The Spanish midfielder started one match and came off the bench three times at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Rodri's current contract with Man City runs until June 2027. Real Madrid may wait to fully assess the 29-year-old's physical condition.
However, Xabi Alonso is urging Los Blancos leaders to speed up the process of recruiting Rodri, because he knows Man City will extend his contract if his fitness remains good.
Previously, the Spanish coach was not satisfied when witnessing the weakness of Real's midfield in the crushing defeat against PSG.
The Royal team's midfield could not keep up with the speed and intensity of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz on the opposite side.
That further prompted Alonso to request reinforcements for the midfield. Rodri was seen as the perfect solution with his vast experience.
