In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc stated that the message "Flow of Excellence" not only evokes the image of the Mekong River, a source of culture and history, but also serves as a metaphor for the inheritance, convergence, and dissemination of sustainable values.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is gradually becoming a modern megacity, a dynamic economic and financial center, and an attractive tourist destination rich in identity. The city has a rich history and abundant natural resources, including mountains, forests, rivers, and the sea, Vietnam's first island and coastal Ramsar site, and a UNESCO-recognized mangrove biosphere reserve.

"We expect that every moment you experience here will leave an indelible mark, like a promise to return, to further strengthen your connection with this city," emphasized Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc.
The art night featured many outstanding performances: the shadow dance "Welcome Ho Chi Minh City," the "Hello Ho Chi Minh City Mashup" sending a warm welcome to international friends; the short film "Ho Chi Minh City – A Flow of Excellence" showcasing the unique aspects of culture, festivals, cuisine , and the city's rise in the new era; the "Cultural Essence" performance recreating heritage through Cai Luong, Tuong Co, and martial arts; and the "Heritage Essence" ao dai collection inspired by traditional craft villages…

ITE HCMC 2025, taking place from September 4th to 6th at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), continues its 19-year journey of development, affirming its role as a leading international tourism promotion platform in the Mekong region and Asia. With the theme "Sustainable Tourism – Vivid Experiences," the fair aims to develop green and responsible tourism products, providing impressive experiences for tourists and international partners.
ITE HCMC 2025 is supported by Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist Group, SECC, Thiskyhall, Sofitel Saigon Plaza, and many other domestic and international businesses, airlines, and hotels.
Ho Chi Minh City aims to be among the top 100 best cities in the world.
Later that same day, the 12th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization of Cities (TPO) - 2025 was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City. This marks the first time Vietnam has hosted the TPO General Assembly, within the framework of ITE HCMC 2025.
According to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Van Duoc, Ho Chi Minh City always proactively promotes cooperation, connectivity, and affirms its position as a tourism center of the region. In particular, from July 1st, Ho Chi Minh City officially expanded its administrative boundaries with the merger of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, aiming to become an international megacity.

Among the five pillars of development, tourism and cultural industries are identified as key sectors, with a prominent advantage stemming from eco-tourism and high-end resort clusters in Vung Tau – Can Gio – Ho Tram – Long Hai – Con Dao.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that, with a vision to 2045 – the 100th anniversary of National Day – Ho Chi Minh City will be among the top 100 best cities in the world, an economic, financial, and tourism center of Asia, and an attractive global destination with a high quality of life, distinctive and sustainable development.

With the theme "Shaping the Future of Tourism: Towards Digital and Green Transformation," the 2025 TPO General Assembly considers digital transformation and green transformation as two strategic pillars ensuring sustainable development. This direction is also consistent with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

According to TPO Secretary-General Kang Da-eun, digital transformation strengthens connectivity and enhances experiences, while green transformation ensures sustainable and inclusive growth. Combining these two elements, tourism will become a powerful driver for the prosperity and resilience of member cities.
