The lotus season is in full bloom in the Tra Ly fields of Quang Nam province.

In mid-June, the Tra Ly - Dong Lon lotus-growing area becomes a favorite destination because of the vibrant pink color of the lotus flowers in bloom.

Located amidst a 4,400-hectare protected forest system, the Tra Ly - Dong Lon lotus pond is situated in Chanh Loc village, Duy Son commune, Duy Xuyen district (Quang Nam province).

Lotus growers in Tra Ly mainly sell fresh lotus seeds for processing into dried lotus seeds, lotus seed embryos for selling as lotus seed tea, vacuum-packed fresh lotus seeds, and cereal powders containing lotus seeds…

May and June each year is the time when lotus flowers bloom profusely across the fields of Tra Ly in particular and the entire Duy Son commune in general.

In Tra Ly, lotus flowers are grown by farmers in concentrated areas on dry rice paddies instead of in flooded ponds or swamps like in some other places.

The Phu Loc reservoir, located in the lotus field area, serves to regulate irrigation water for agricultural production in general within Duy Son commune.

During the lotus blooming season, Tra Ly attracts hundreds of tourists every day who come to take photos and check in.

Due to the pristine nature of the Tra Ly area, its remote location, and certain regulations regarding protected forests, tourism development in this region remains limited.

Currently, the Tra Ly lotus growing area mainly serves local people, tourists, and is exploited for economic purposes.

In the near future, the local government plans to develop the Tra Ly - Dong Lon lotus growing area into an eco-tourism zone, combining it with the Duy Son Hydropower Plant, the Quang Da Party Committee historical site, Phu Loc Lake, My Son Sanctuary, etc., to create a tourism space for Duy Xuyen district.
