The first barge carrying sea sand arrived at the highway construction site in Ca Mau.

As of May 23, 2024, the total construction output value of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project reached about 29%.

Contractors have mobilized 64 sand pumps for the project (of which, Can Tho - Hau Giang section has 23 pumps; Hau Giang - Ca Mau section has 41 pumps). The current average capacity of a pump is about 1,005m3/day.

It is expected that by October 30, the project will need to mobilize 11.2 million m3, with an exploitation capacity of 67,000 - 73,000 m3 of sand/day.

The Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway project started construction on January 1, 2023, with a length of more than 110km and a total investment of more than VND 27,500 billion.

The project is divided into two component projects: Can Tho - Hau Giang component project has a length of more than 37km, total investment of more than 10,370 billion VND; Hau Giang - Ca Mau component project has a length of more than 73km, total investment of more than 17,152 billion VND.
