After the book Sharing from the Heart was well received by readers, the second book The Path of Transformation (published by First News and Dan Tri Publishing House) is 50 lectures selected during 30 years of teaching by Master Thich Phap Hoa, aiming to systematize for readers the important teachings of Buddhism and popular practices.

Through that, readers identify original Buddhism through the "8 right paths" (Noble Eightfold Path), including: right view, right thinking, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right concentration, right effort and right mindfulness.

"Practice to become yourself"

In each lecture, Master Thich Phap Hoa not only delves into each concept but also gives many examples and ways for readers to apply the Noble Eightfold Path to life: how to make a living honestly, how to use words meaningfully, how to be mindful and think correctly...

Master Thich Phap Hoa concluded: "Practice is not to become a god or a Buddha, but to become yourself. Practice to know what you are stuck in so you can untangle it and let it go. Practice to know what you are stumbling upon and what you have realized. Practice is to be clearly enlightened, to eat knowing you are eating, to drink knowing you are drinking. And practice is also to know what suffering you are experiencing, from there, how can you reduce that suffering and pain."

In the spirit of "dual practice of Zen and Pure Land" and as someone who has a deep understanding and experience in practicing both methods, Master Thich Phap Hoa thoroughly explains the practical nature and core common points of these two traditions, and at the same time guides readers through many methods of practice such as 10 ways to recite Buddha's name, count breaths, observe feelings, observe mental activities... so that each reader can choose the appropriate path of practice for themselves.

In his new work, Master Phap Hoa has skillfully combined life stories into short verses, making the profound teachings of Buddhism easy to understand and accessible.

According to Master Thich Phap Hoa: "I clearly see that in life, gain - loss, success - failure, victory - defeat... everything is temporary. Saying this is not to make us pessimistic, but to help us have a happy life, to help us live with a joyful, open, accepting, loving, forgiving heart, not with sadness or sorrow. Seeing life as meaningless, we vow to live meaningfully, not to see life as sad like that and then give up. Because that is the truth of life. If we accept it, it will come. If we don't accept it, it will come. If we accept it, when it comes, we will feel very light-hearted."
