Promoting the Party's leadership role in maintaining traffic order and safety

(GLO)- Following closely the leadership and direction of the Party Committee Standing Committee and the Board of Directors of Gia Lai Provincial Police, with high political determination, all cadres and party members of the Traffic Police Party Committee have united and agreed to effectively implement solutions to ensure traffic order and safety.

Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of resolutions and directives of superiors and exceeding the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the Grassroots Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.

Identifying the work of ensuring traffic safety as an important, urgent and regular task, the Party Committee and leaders of the Traffic Police Department have proactively advised all levels and sectors to synchronously and drastically deploy many programs, plans and solutions to promptly resolve key issues of traffic safety throughout the term and at each time, contributing to curbing and reducing traffic accidents in the province. The most outstanding result is the reduction of all 3 indicators of traffic accidents compared to the previous term.

In addition, identifying the important role of propaganda, dissemination andeducation of traffic safety laws, the Party Committee has directed the establishment of mobile propaganda teams to each village, hamlet and residential group, going from house to house to propagate traffic safety laws and step up the mobilization of individual youth who frequently violate the law.

The Traffic Police force directly propagated, disseminated, and educated traffic safety laws at 13 religious establishments with the participation of more than 7,310 followers; at 108 residential areas with more than 29,468 people participating; at 142 schools for more than 68,584 students and teachers, combined with presenting 2,965 helmets and many valuable gifts. Coordinated the posting of 37 news, articles, and reports on central and local newspapers and radio stations, more than 350 news, articles on the Electronic Information Portal and social networking platforms, attracting thousands of shares. Rotatingly installed 28 billboards, hung 276 propaganda banners; organized 560 propaganda sessions by mobile loudspeakers on key routes; printed and distributed more than 133,000 propaganda leaflets in 3 languages ​​(Kinh, Jrai, Bahnar) to the people.

At the same time, deploy 66 businesses, more than 5,000 drivers to sign a commitment to strictly comply with traffic safety laws; mobilize 310 restaurants to remind customers not to drive if they have consumed alcohol or beer.

With the motto of handling violations "no forbidden areas, no exceptions", patrolling, controlling and handling violations have been promoted and achieved many positive results. During the term, the Traffic Police force detected and recorded 183,658 cases of traffic safety violations, revoked 6,247 driving licenses of all kinds, deducted points from 2,079 driving licenses; temporarily detained 365 cars, 8,275 motorbikes, 47,146 documents; and paid the state budget 107.76 billion VND. In addition, in coordination with local police, 23,351 cases of violations were detected and handled, 59 cars, 5,589 motorbikes, and 8,526 documents of all kinds were temporarily detained.

With a spirit of vigilance and determination in patrolling, controlling, registering vehicles and ensuring traffic safety, the Traffic Police force has detected and prevented 80 crimes on traffic routes; arrested 36 subjects, temporarily detained 36 cars, 24 motorbikes and many criminal exhibits and handed them over to the authorities for handling according to regulations. In particular, coordinated with Kon Tum City Police to successfully fight and rescue 2 hostages on National Highway 14; coordinated to arrest 6 subjects for theft, 3 wanted subjects, 6 subjects for illegal possession and transportation of drugs, 5 subjects for possession of weapons...

These results are clear evidence of the efforts of each officer and soldier in performing the dual task of ensuring traffic safety and fighting crime in the area.

At the same time, the Traffic Police Department has assigned forces and means to ensure absolute safety for key targets and projects, 111 political , cultural and sports events taking place in the area. Deploying 134 plans and options, mobilizing 1,234 leaders, officers and soldiers, 146 cars and 313 motorbikes to direct traffic and guide the travel activities of Party and State leaders and international delegations coming and going through the province.

In particular, during the Covid-19 epidemic, the Department arranged 125 cars, 235 officers and soldiers to lead 1,381 pregnant women, people seeking medical treatment, students from the southern provinces to the area and 22,917 citizens passing through the province.

With the motto of simplifying administrative procedures, publicizing procedures, shortening time, reducing hassles and creating the most favorable conditions for people, the Party Committee has focused on directing the development and effective implementation of projects, promoting the application of information technology in administrative reform in vehicle registration and handling of traffic violations. It has advised on the assignment and decentralization of 97 vehicle registration points in the province, including 1 registration point at the Traffic Police Department and 96 registration points at the Police of communes, wards and towns. During the term, 17,247 new cars, 239,505 motorbikes and 3,697 electric motorbikes were registered.

Receiving, guiding, resolving and processing administrative procedure records is increasingly simple and ensures connectivity, 100% of records are resolved and results are returned within the prescribed time.

Faced with new requirements and tasks in the work of testing and issuing driving licenses, the Party Committee has directed the drastic implementation of steps and procedures for receiving and handing over documents, facilities, equipment, and databases from specialized units under the Department of Transport; and organized training for 50 comrades who are leaders, commanders, officers, and soldiers serving the testing and issuing of driving license cards.

Thereby, the functions and tasks of state management on testing and granting of road motor vehicle driving licenses were promptly deployed and performed. 3,173 new driving licenses were issued; 7,278 driving licenses were exchanged; 1,080 driving licenses were reissued; 8,751 cases were approved and integrated into VNeID; 15 testing sessions were organized with 5,495 candidates participating.

Along with successfully completing professional tasks, the Traffic Police Party Committee always pays attention to Party building and force building; does a good job of political and ideological education for cadres and party members; thoroughly grasps and seriously implements Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW of the Politburo on promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Public Security force to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation, identifying this as a key and consistent political task.

In particular, the Party Committee has linked the work of building and consolidating the Party organization with the synchronous and drastic implementation of professional measures. Thanks to that, the traffic safety situation in the province has had clear positive changes. Major goals such as controlling and reducing traffic accidents, preventing prolonged traffic jams and illegal racing have all been achieved and exceeded the resolution.

At the same time, the Party Committee regularly leads the Women's Union and the Youth Union of the unit to promote grassroots activities and "Repaying gratitude" activities; coordinate with agencies, departments, branches and organizations to sponsor 2 children; organize 8 programs to propagate traffic safety laws with more than 3,800 participants; and give away 630 helmets and 750 other valuable gifts.

During the 2020-2025 term, although the task of ensuring traffic safety still has many difficulties and challenges, under the regular and direct leadership and direction of the Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Police Department's Board of Directors, the close coordination of departments, branches, armed forces in the province, the support of the people, along with the spirit of solidarity and efforts of cadres and party members in the unit, the Traffic Police Party Committee has grasped the situation, promptly advised on the effective implementation of solutions to ensure traffic safety, effectively serving the socio-economic development of the locality.

With outstanding achievements in the 2020-2025 term, the unit has 163 collectives and individuals receiving awards from the Ministry of Public Security, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Traffic Police Department, Director of the Provincial Police and other levels and sectors.

Following the tradition and promoting the achieved results, the Traffic Police force of the Provincial Public Security continues to comprehensively innovate all aspects of work, uphold the spirit of solidarity, dedication to work, intelligence, creativity to resolutely and effectively implement solutions to ensure traffic safety, excellently completing assigned political tasks in the new era, the era of national advancement.
