At the meeting on the morning of November 7, Mr. Ngo Tan Cu - General Director of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) requested units to urgently mobilize personnel to the localities to restore infrastructure and restore power to people as soon as possible after storm No. 13.
According to statistics at 7:00 a.m. on November 7, storm Kalmaegi caused 31 incidents on the 110kV grid, causing power outages at 17 110kV transformer stations in Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces, and hundreds of power poles and lines were knocked down.
After the storm, broken trees blocked roads and widespread flooding made access to the scene difficult.
At the medium voltage level, EVNCPC recorded 427 incidents and power outages, causing more than 1.6 million customers to lose power - accounting for about 26% of EVNCPC's total customers. The most severely damaged provinces were Gia Lai and Dak Lak.
Immediately after the storm, power companies in the provinces urgently checked the system, making efforts to restore power to more than 315,000 customers, corresponding to 3,674 distribution transformer stations.
The remaining 1.29 million customers are still being processed, of which the most serious are Gia Lai Electricity Company (678,995 customers still have power outages, accounting for 69.54%), Dak Lak Electricity Company (324,928 customers, accounting for 34.30%).
Estimated lost capacity is 655 MW, equal to 17.2% of the maximum load of the entire EVNCPC system.

The units bring specialized vehicles, generators, materials, equipment and construction vehicles, ready to respond.
"We aim to restore electricity to the central areas of communes and wards on November 7. In the next 3 days, we will basically complete the restoration of power supply to the entire Central Highlands region.
In the immediate future, we will focus on restoring the 110kV and medium voltage grids, gradually restoring power to residential and production customers, contributing to stabilizing people's lives and recovering the economy after the storm," Mr. Cu affirmed.
