The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has its first female President.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, was elected as Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term.

On the afternoon of November 7, in Hanoi , the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) held a consultative conference to elect the position of Chairman.

The conference unanimously elected Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central organizations to participate in the Central Committee, the Presidium, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, 2024 - 2029.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai is the first female President in the 95-year history of the Vietnam Fatherland Front .

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai said that she will do her best to promote the role and responsibility of the Front and mass organizations, making practical contributions to the cause of great national unity, continuing to affirm more clearly the role and position of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new revolutionary period, leading the comprehensive implementation of the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Front will soon implement the Resolution of the Central Party Congress of the Front and mass organizations for the 2025-2030 term, implementing the direction of General Secretary To Lam, and preparing well for the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Emphasizing that as the successor, with the role and responsibility as the head of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai expressed her deep gratitude and sincere thanks to the previous Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, generations of leaders and cadres of the Front who have created a long tradition and built a solid foundation for the work of the Front. She also expressed her wish that the comrades in the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations will continue to accompany her in the process of completing the tasks assigned by the Party and the State.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, 60 years old, is from Ninh Binh province (formerly Ha Nam province). She is an alternate member of the 10th Party Central Committee; member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Central Committee; Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee; member of the 13th Politburo; and deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

She started as a cadre, Inspector Level I, Inspector of Nam Dinh City. After that, she went through many working positions in Ha Nam province, from Inspector Level II, Inspector of Ha Nam Province; Chief Inspector, Inspection Committee of Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee; Deputy Head of Inspection Committee of Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee; Permanent Vice Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Council; Head of Mass Mobilization Committee of Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee; Secretary of Phu Ly City Party Committee.

She has held the following positions: Permanent Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee; Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee.

In April 2021, she was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization. In July 2024, she was appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and three weeks ago was re-elected to this position at the City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

On November 4, 2025, she was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations for the 2020-2025 term. On November 7, 2025, the 5th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, consulted and elected her to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, term 2024-2029.
