TKV to produce 32.5 million tons of coal in 10 months of 2025

In the first 10 months of 2025, TKV's raw coal production is estimated at 32.5 million tons, and imported coal in the first 10 months is estimated at 8.9 million tons.

According to calculations by the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), in November 2025, 3.35 million tons of raw coal will be produced and about 4.7 million tons of coal of all kinds will be consumed. This is the information given by TKV General Director Vu Anh Tuan at the online production management conference in November 2025 at 2 points: TKV Headquarters in Hanoi and Production Management Center in Quang Ninh.

The Group's report shows that in the first 10 months of 2025, TKV's raw coal production is estimated at 32.5 million tons, and imported coal in the first 10 months is estimated at 8.9 million tons. In total, in the first 10 months, TKV is estimated to consume 36.7 million tons of coal of all kinds. Along with the production of 32.5 million tons of coal, TKV imported nearly 9 million tons of coal in the first 10 months of 2025 for blending, meeting the coal demand of the economy .

The report shows that in October 2025, the circulation of storm No. 11 (Matmo) caused heavy rain in some areas, causing flooding, greatly affecting the production and consumption of coal and minerals of TKV. Along with that, coal consumption for electricity production decreased... The Group has effectively implemented synchronous and flexible solutions to promote production and business growth. Notably, many other mineral products (other than coal) of TKV have had higher growth than planned. Thanks to that, the Group has basically completed the plan targets, ensuring jobs and income for workers in October and 10 months of 2025.

Specifically, the cumulative output of raw coal in the first 10 months is estimated at 32.5 million tons; imported coal in the first 10 months is estimated at 8.9 million tons; in the first 10 months, the estimated consumption of all kinds of coal is 36.7 million tons.

Thanks to the promotion of alumina production and consumption, taking advantage of market opportunities when the selling price is at a favorable level, in October 2025, TKV's alumina production and consumption achieved high results, and mineral product production and consumption in October continued to remain stable. Alumina production in 10 months is estimated at 1.2 million tons, equal to 103.2% over the same period, consumption is 1.2 million tons, equal to 102.4% over the same period. Bauxite ore exploitation in 10 months is estimated at 6.4 million tons, equal to 108.4% over the same period.

Production and consumption of copper concentrate in 10 months is estimated at 102% compared to the same period. Copper plate production is estimated at 105% compared to the same period. Electricity output in 10 months is estimated at 8.2 billion kWh, equal to 106.5% compared to the same period...

Thanks to completing the basic targets according to the operating plan, the total revenue of TKV in 10 months is estimated at 136 trillion VND, equal to 100% compared to the same period. The state budget payment in 10 months is estimated at 20.9 trillion VND; ensuring jobs and income for workers with an average salary of more than 18 million VND/person/month, an increase of 6.4% compared to the plan. Security, order and safety are ensured.

TKV also added that in November, the regional and world economic and political situation is forecast to continue to have many unpredictable fluctuations, negatively affecting global trade and domestic production sectors as well as TKV's production and business activities. Along with that, domestically, November may still see storms, which are not favorable for coal and mineral exploitation activities. Alumina prices have fallen sharply due to supply exceeding demand, and coal consumption continues to face many difficulties... TKV will continue to closely follow the plan targets, strictly implement operational discipline, resolutely and synchronously deploy solutions, and be determined and make efforts to complete the coal consumption plan at the beginning of the year and the growth target according to the Government's direction.
