Regarding other damages, the storm sank 12 fishing boats (7 in Gia Lai, 4 in Dak Lak, and 1 in Quang Ngai ), and swept away 54,000 aquaculture cages in Dak Lak.
The whole region also recorded 28 110kV power grid incidents, more than 1.6 million customers lost power, now restored to more than 315,000 customers.
Many livestock, poultry and large areas of rice, crops and trees were damaged.
Rain and storms also caused great damage to traffic. In Quang Ngai, many national and provincial highways were flooded and trees fell; Truong Son Dong road was blocked at two points, and Ho Chi Minh road through Lo Xo pass was just opened to traffic. In Gia Lai, Dak Po To bridge was swept away by floodwaters at the beginning of the bridge by 25m. In Dak Lak, many national and provincial highways were deeply flooded, inner-city roads were filled up, and traffic was cut off.
“The initial damage estimate due to storm No. 13 is 1,900 billion VND in Dak Lak province alone. Localities are continuing to review, compile damage data and organize to overcome the consequences,” the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention informed.
