Mr. Tran Trong Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, delivered a speech.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Trong Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, highly appreciated the initiatives promoting innovation in education and the development of young human resources. He believes that the cooperation between Samsung Vietnam, NIC, and local authorities and schools will help the competition continue to spread strongly in the future.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is an annual competition for middle and high school students, aiming to promote the application of STEM education in research and the development of solutions to practical local and societal problems.

The competition was initiated by Samsung Global in 2010 in the US and launched in Vietnam in 2019. After many years of organization, the program has gradually become one of the largest technology and innovation playgrounds for high school students.

This year, the competition focuses on three themes: developing a sustainable environment through technology; combining sports and technology to bring about social change; and applying technology to develop a sustainable society.

According to the organizers, the competing teams not only developed ideas but were also guided to develop them into practical solutions applicable locally.

Bringing Samsung Solve for Tomorrow closer to students nationwide.

Following the launch of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 competition in Hanoi on April 11th, the organizing committee has implemented numerous accompanying activities in various localities to bring the program closer to students and teachers nationwide. To date, more than 13 provinces and cities have brought the competition to their Departments of Education and Training and many secondary and high schools.

The organizers also conducted more than 20 live workshops at schools to introduce the rules, guide idea development, and train design thinking – an important skill that helps students approach and solve practical problems using creative thinking and technology.

In addition, a large-scale online training session with nearly 300 participants nationwide was also implemented to guide teachers and students in registering for the online course on design thinking, and to disseminate the registration and submission process for entries on the program's system. According to the organizers, these activities contribute to helping students approach the competition in a more systematic way, improve their project development skills, and increase their ability to realize creative ideas into valuable solutions for the community.

In 2026, Samsung Vietnam will collaborate with the National Innovation Center (NIC) for the first time to implement the program. According to Samsung, the participation of the NIC is expected to create a stronger ripple effect for STEM education, while increasing the connection between the government, schools, and businesses in developing innovative human resources.

As in previous seasons, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 is implemented with two competition categories: Category A for middle school students and Category B for high school students. Participating teams, under the guidance of their teachers, are encouraged to develop ideas that are relevant to practical local needs rather than just theoretical models.

In addition to awards for top-performing teams, Samsung continues its policy of supporting school infrastructure. Specifically, the school with the first-place team in each category will receive a STEM Lab classroom worth $60,000, while the school with the second-place team will be equipped with interactive whiteboards. The program also awards prizes to provinces, cities, and schools with the highest percentage of students participating in online learning to encourage a spirit of learning and innovation.
