The destructive power of the Iskander tactical ballistic missile.
On August 9th, AVP reported that recent Russian attacks on the Poltava region (Ukraine), particularly Mirgorod airport, had caused serious damage. Columns of smoke rising dozens of meters high were recorded following precise Iskander missile strikes.
According to preliminary data obtained by AVP, approximately five missiles were used in the latest attack. Mirgorod Airport has repeatedly been targeted in these attacks, underscoring its importance in Ukraine's military infrastructure.

The attacks on Mirgorod airport inflicted serious damage to the logistics and rapid mobility of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Damage to the runway and hangars, destroyed equipment and machinery – all of this significantly reduced the combat effectiveness and performance of the Ukrainian army in the region. Furthermore, attacks on such critical infrastructure will put additional pressure on the Ukrainian leadership, requiring the redistribution of resources for infrastructure restoration.
The Iskander tactical ballistic missile system is a powerful weapon with high accuracy and destructive power in the Russian military. In military operations, Iskander missiles are used to attack critical infrastructure and inflict heavy damage on the enemy. The Iskander's high mobility and stealth capabilities make it an effective means of quickly and accurately completing assigned missions.
In the case of the Poltava region and Mirgorod airport, the use of Iskander missiles was aimed at weakening Ukraine's military capabilities and creating a strategic advantage for Russia.
