President Putin: Russian missiles are superior to Western missiles aided to Ukraine

"The new US PrSM (precision strike missile) system is in no way superior to Russian missiles," Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit in Kazakhstan's capital Astana on November 28.

According to the Kremlin chief, Russia's Iskander short-range ballistic missile system has a similar payload to all three versions of the US-made ATACMS (army tactical missile system).

“Of course, we know how many relevant weapons systems our opponents have; where exactly these weapons are located; how many have been transferred to Ukraine and how many are expected to be transferred,” Putin stressed.

However, he asserted that “no transfer of weapons, even the most advanced ones, can help Ukraine change the situation on the battlefield”.

He also pointed out that Moscow is far ahead of Western countries in supporting Ukraine in the production of long-range weapons.

“As for the production of relevant missile systems, in Russia this figure is ten times higher than the total production of all NATO countries and next year it will increase by another 25-30 percent,” Putin added.

Earlier this month, the US, UK and France allowed Ukraine to use long-range weapons they had previously supplied to it to launch strikes on Russian territory, some of which Kiev has already launched.

Currently, Kiev's forces are equipped with American ATACMS as well as British Storm Shadow and French SCALP missiles.
