Vinh Long started construction of Dinh Khao bridge worth more than 2,800 billion VND on December 19.

Vinh Long agreed to start construction of Dinh Khao bridge and a number of key projects on December 19, aiming to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Information from Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary, Mr. Tran Van Lau, on the afternoon of December 3 said that the province has selected three large-scale projects to start construction and inaugurate, in order to promote socio -economic development of the locality and neighboring areas.

Among these, the Dinh Khao Bridge project is considered the focal point. The project has a total investment of more than VND 2,852 billion, implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), replacing the Dinh Khao ferry which is often overloaded. The bridge-road route is more than 4 km long, in which the main bridge crossing the Co Chien River is designed with 4 lanes, maximum speed of 80 km/h, connecting Provincial Road 902 (Nhon Phu Commune) with National Highway 57, creating a smooth traffic axis between Vinh Long and neighboring provinces.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau emphasized that when completed, Dinh Khao Bridge will end the congestion at the existing ferry, shorten travel time, reduce transportation costs and increase the competitiveness of goods. The project is also expected to promote trade, develop industry and services and expand the urban space of the province.

In addition, Vinh Long will start a social housing project in the administrative and residential area of ​​Long Chau ward, meeting the housing needs of workers. At the same time, it is expected to inaugurate the infrastructure project of Phu Thuan Industrial Park, expanding the ability to attract investment.

Local authorities assess that this group of projects will create an important foundation for Vinh Long to accelerate in the 2025-2030 period, increasing regional connectivity and improving logistics capacity for the entire Mekong Delta region.
