The 3-in-1 rice seeder invented by farmer Le Van Lung has contributed to reducing costs, reducing labor and increasing rice productivity, bringing economic efficiency.
Mr. Le Van Lung, a farmer who invented an agricultural machine (left cover, Cau Lon hamlet, My Lac commune, Thu Thua district, Long An province) next to a 3-in-1 rice seeder.
According to Mr. Le Van Lung, My Lac commune, Thu Thua district (Long An province), the 3-in-1 seeding machine is compact, simple to operate and effective. The machine uses the traction of the plow and the transplanter to pull the 3-in-1 seeding machine.
The 3-in-1 seed seeder is designed to include: a 2.5m long seed container; a rotating shaft attached to 2 wheels so that when the tractor is operating, the seeds fall onto the field surface; below the rotating shaft is a field leveling device, combined with a drainage ditch making device.
Compared with traditional seeding methods, broadcast seeding, and thick seeding in production, the 3-in-1 row seeding machine helps reduce 40-50% of the amount of seeds used (from 120-150kg/ha to 70-80kg/ha).
The seeder also helps reduce 15-20% of inorganic fertilizers, reduce 1-2 times of spraying pesticides, increase rice yield by 0.3-0.5 tons/ha, and increase profits by 2-3 million VND/ha.
The 3-in-1 rice seeder invented by Mr. Lung also contributes to the implementation of the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta.
With this initiative, he won the Encouragement Prize in the 8th Long An Province Farmers' Technical Innovation Competition, 2023-2024.
