Special affection for Truong Sa
For Trinh Minh Hien, Truong Sa is not only the sacred sky and sea in her heart, but also a source of creative inspiration. She once brought her violin to perform for soldiers on remote islands, and carried out many music projects related to the sea and islands, including the MV Truong Sa Waves - a work conceived from an emotional field trip. That love became the source for Trinh Minh Hien to compose Bien Songs, as a song honoring the sacrifice and resilience of marine soldiers and the eternal pride in the sovereignty of the Fatherland.
Musician Trinh Minh Hien shared that she wanted to portray through sound the heroic sons of the country, people who never retreated in the struggle, carrying within them the desire for freedom, dedication and willingness to sacrifice for the fate of the nation. That is why, Sea of Waves opens with the romance and gallantry of a young man from the city, then transforms into a fast-paced marching rhythm, like the call of millions of "red-blooded" hearts always turning towards the Fatherland.
What's special is that this song is included in a collection of 9 works by Trinh Minh Hien - a musical journey spanning 80 years, from 1945 to 2025, like a slice of history through melody: both fiery struggle and simple, ordinary peace today.

Tuan Nghia's mark - the voice that brings Bien Song far and wide
For the first time, Trinh Minh Hien collaborated with singer Tuan Nghia - a singer born in 1990 in Hanoi, trained at the Vietnam National Conservatory of Music and pursuing chamber music, where the artist's emotions often blend with vocal techniques. In addition, he is also very successful with Old Music and foreign music... Tuan Nghia stands out with his ability to sing fluently in many languages, from English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Spanish to Chinese, Japanese... and owns a collection of domestic and international music awards.
Among them, we can mention the Third Prize - Listen to me sing, First Prize - Love Song Singer, Voice Battle, Love Storyteller 2022, and most recently, Champion at The 18th Zhongsin International Music Competition, Singapore 2024. Despite his impressive "profile", the name Tuan Nghia is still quite new to many audiences. He chooses to live a humble and happy life with his passion for singing and considers it a blessing from heaven.
Trinh Minh Hien and Tuan Nghia met each other… online, and then became close sisters, friends, and colleagues. If Trinh Minh Hien always expressed her love for Tuan Nghia's special, emotional voice, then this "younger brother" was very enthusiastic about a talented, passionate artist like Trinh Minh Hien. That's why, when he received the request to perform Trinh Minh Hien's brand new song "Bien Song", Tuan Nghia immediately agreed:
"I realized this is a very special song. Each verse, each rhythm is like a wave rising in my heart, both romantic and majestic, reminding me of my responsibility to the Fatherland."

Golden glitter stars.
Blending composition and performance
Singer Tuan Nghia's voice is sublimated in Bien Song thanks to the special arrangement, where composition and performance blend into a unified whole. Musician Trinh Minh Hien has meticulously and delicately combined modern and classical instruments, creating a musical space that is both romantic and majestic.
Besides the violin, Trinh Minh Hien is accompanied by talented artists: Bui Ha Mien (cello), Tran Duc Minh (arrangement and steel guitar), Nam Truong (electric guitar), Hai Bang (bass guitar), Giang Linh (drums).
Each instrument, each tone contributes to the complete spirit of the song - sometimes passionate and romantic, sometimes strong and boiling like the rhythm of the waves at sea. All blend into a common voice, echoing the love for the homeland and pride in the marine soldiers.
With Sea Waves, musician Trinh Minh Hien and singer Tuan Nghia not only bring a new song, but also convey a profound message: love for the Fatherland always flows in the veins of every Vietnamese person - like the constantly rising ocean waves.
