Vietnamese handicraft creations make their mark at EXPO 2025

NDO - At the World Exhibition EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai (Japan), the space for traditional and contemporary Vietnamese handicraft products is becoming a special destination, contributing to promoting and honoring national identity in the global cultural space.

The Vietnam Exhibition House not only introduces national achievements in economics, science, and innovation, but is also a space rich in cultural colors. In particular, the handicraft display area attracts many visitors because of the unique combination of folk materials, traditional craft techniques with contemporary design thinking.

Brands such as Lamphong, La Toa, Hi' De Maison, Hanoia, Chu Dau, Kym Viet, Van Phuc Silk, Tram Ngo, Bat Trang Atelier Museum, Dau Bac... are together sketching a new creative look for Vietnamese handicrafts in the integration period - from lacquer, pottery, silver, silk... to traditional crafts.

With the orientation of spreading the spirit of Vietnamese handicrafts inherited and developed by the young creative generation, Lamphong Studio brings to EXPO 2025 three typical works: Long'Story, Dai Cat and Ty. Each work is a delicate blend and skillful combination of traditional materials, Eastern cultural symbols and modern visual language. The meticulously crafted artifacts contain a philosophy of life and aspiration for sustainability, luck as well as pride in traditional cultural heritage.

Artist Le Huy, founder of Lamphong Studio, shared: Participating in EXPO is an opportunity for professionals like us to tell the story of Vietnamese culture through design language, through well-crafted products, imbued with national spirit but still close to international tastes.

Bat Trang pottery – a long-standing symbol of Vietnamese pottery continues to be introduced, promoted and honored through the works of TU Pottury Studio. The products are rustic yet sophisticated, demonstrating a harmonious combination of traditional aesthetics and modern lifestyle.

TU's ceramics are not only household items but also a fusion of culture and visual arts, demonstrating the ability to communicate with contemporary users. The carefully selected works from shaping to glazing not only demonstrate the artisan's level but also show the potential to position Vietnamese ceramics in the field of international design.

Continuing that creative flow, Hi' De Maison brings to EXPO handmade products inspired by traditional Vietnamese motifs, crafted on silver. The highlight is the traditional silver carving technique - a technique that requires patience, delicacy and high precision. On each product, the patterns appear vivid and sharp. This is not only an aesthetic item but also the embodiment of profound indigenous cultural stories.

The craft space at EXPO 2025 becomes more lively with unique ceramic sculptures by artist Tong Vuong Quyen. He chooses raw ceramic, unglazed ceramic, which retains the original color of the earth after firing to create familiar animal images such as elephants, wild boars, etc. Each work evokes a story about nature, the environment and the connection between humans and the natural world.
