Surprise visit
Recently, on many social networking platforms, a video was shared recording the scene of rapper DPR Ian and his crew having dinner at a restaurant in Hanoi, especially attracting the attention of young people.
Images in the video show the Korean star friendly taking photos with restaurant staff, happily enjoying many specialties typical of the capital.
According to research, the restaurant where the group of Korean stars went to experience is Quan An Ngon located on Phan Boi Chau street (Cua Nam ward, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi ).

Talking to Dan Tri reporter , restaurant owner, Ms. Pham Thi Bich Hanh, was completely surprised by the appearance of the famous group of guests.
The group of 6 guests arrived at 5pm on June 23 and had a meal for about an hour. Although they were famous, the group was very friendly and polite to the staff and surrounding guests.
"They came so suddenly that we didn't have time to prepare anything in advance and still served as usual. This was a spontaneous visit, without a reservation. It was only later when my friends sent me the clip that I learned that DPR Ian and his crew had just arrived at the restaurant," Ms. Hanh shared.
Although the meal was in the late afternoon, the group ordered quite a lot of food, mainly Hanoi specialties. Some of the dishes included vermicelli with snails and bananas, Hanoi fish cakes, eel vermicelli, Hanoi pho rolls, special vermicelli with crab and snails, meat rolls, spring rolls, and dried beef salad.

There are also some regional specialties such as banh xeo, banh canh cua, banh hoi nem nuong cuon banh trang and Ha Long squid rolls.
According to the restaurant owner, the group of guests mostly chose Vietnamese dishes that have been especially popular among Koreans recently, such as banh xeo, cha ca, bun rieu, and stir-fried water spinach with garlic.
These dishes have appeared in KBS reality shows and have been recommended by many Korean celebrities. The show's popularity has spread to the point that many Koreans have come to try them, and almost everyone orders the same dishes.
Vegetables from the South "fly" to the North to serve diners eating banh xeo
It is known that one of the dishes that the Korean star group loves the most is banh xeo. This is also the restaurant's best seller, ordered the most by customers.
According to research, the ingredients and preparation process of the dish are also elaborate. The chef only coats a thin layer of oil on the pan and then pours the pancake batter on top. This action helps the pancake to be crispy but not greasy. The filling is made from familiar ingredients such as shrimp, meat, and bean sprouts that are stir-fried beforehand.

One of the elements that make up the soul of the dish is the green mustard greens - a vegetable that the restaurant has painstakingly imported from the South to the Capital to serve gourmets. It is a spicy mustard green used specifically for banh xeo, without a bitter taste but still retains a slight pungency. When eating, diners just need to roll the mustard greens with a crispy piece of cake with a rich filling, and dip it in sweet and sour fish sauce to complete the flavor.
A portion of cake costs 175,000 VND. If you eat it lightly, it will be enough for 2 to 3 people.
The second dish on the menu that rapper DPR Ian also loves is Hanoi fish cake. The fish cake is made from fresh catfish from the Da River. Traditional fish cakes are often dipped in shrimp paste, but not all customers can eat this type of sauce. However, the restaurant owner revealed that the Korean guests were excited to enjoy fish cakes with shrimp paste.
Previously, this business establishment has welcomed world leaders, embassies, and international stars to dine many times (Photo: PH).
Like many other times receiving VIP guests, the restaurant staff still maintains a professional service attitude, ensures the privacy of guests, and does not arbitrarily film or take pictures.
The meal for a group of 6 people with 17 dishes of various types had a total bill of 2.89 million VND.
"DPR Ian was very friendly and proactively invited a female employee to take a photo with him. All the images and videos of the meal were fully recorded by his team. We were also surprised by the great influence of the video," Ms. Hanh shared.
It is known that this is not the first time the restaurant has welcomed VIP guests. Previously, this business establishment has welcomed world leaders, embassies, and international stars to dine many times.
The restaurant's menu currently has more than 200 dishes, mostly Vietnamese dishes, from traditional to contemporary. The ingredients here are selected based on a set of available, relatively strict criteria, ensuring food safety, freshness, and no use of frozen goods containing preservatives.
The price of each dish here ranges from 60,000 to 500,000 VND, suitable for many customer segments.
DPR Ian's real name is Christian Yu, born in 1990 in Australia to a Korean family and is a talented rapper, producer and director.
He is currently a famous star in the international and Korean markets.
On this trip to Vietnam, DPR Ian appeared in a performance with Korean star G-Dragon. He became the center of attention for the young Vietnamese music community with his passionate performance that was no less than that of "Kpop king" G-Dragon.
